It's been a biiit since we've checked in, huh? Let's rap about that.

Hellooo! Hi! Yo yo! How have you guys been? We hope you had happy holidays and fun festivities to bring in the New Year. And for those that didn't, we extend our tightest of hugs (though the rest of you can have hugs too if you'd like).

So, teeny little Dumbo in the room, It's been a biiit since we've checked in, huh? Let's rap about that. First things first, no, we're not dead. We're as alive as ever, actually! We've got good manpower to put towards making this project happen. However, we've chosen to rework how we handle media releases like this.

As some of you may know, a few years ago we committed to posting quarterly updates to keep you guys in the know, and show off something pretty. Unfortunately, we're currently at a stage in development where a lot of our work is either very spoilery, or isn't exactly eye candy. Not due to quality, but because its nature doesn't lend itself to presentability. Can't show off every combat encounter or gameplay feature in a picture!

This sometimes led to us diverting resources away from these higher priority tasks, to lower priority ones that look nicer so that we have something nice to show, even if it could have waited. Well, we don't want to make that a habit. This is all a long-winded way of letting you know that we're changing up our media schedule!

From now on, we'll have media releases every other quarter. We'll also post smaller check-in articles in the interstitial quarters. This will allow us to keep in touch and have something nice for you to look at when we do, without pulling hands away from more urgent work. But don’t worry, we won’t be depriving you of frequent pictures. We’ll come back to that in a bit.

So what's all this "higher priority work" we're rambling about? A lot's been done in the last half year. Continuing the trend of our last couple of updates, two new missions are fully playable front to back: Surface Call and Resonance. Resonance in particular introduced a variety of little quirks to be sorted, but we’ve had hands all over them in the latter half of this year, and the progress speaks for itself.

Things are actually getting pretty lengthy, and playtesting is becoming a bigger and bigger logistical hurdle. In fact, we plan on opening up playtester applications very soon! We’ll have some more info on that coming up, so keep your eyes peeled if you’re willing to sacrifice your enjoyment of the game for the betterment of it.

We’ve also filled an important team role! Paai’s joined our team as a character artist and has been collaborating with our texture artists to absolutely knock characters out of the park. Check out her and Notewell’s current collab project. This is an early work in progress on our favorite grouch, Dr. Keller himself:

Dr. Richard Keller

And a little less terrestrial (but no less grouchy), Paai and myself have thrown together a little squeaker ready to nibble ‘n’ ‘splode:

Snark

Shifting over to the inanimate, Agente P’s throwing more Art Studies to the wind and figuring out how Code Green’s ATC building should look. Peep it!:

Finally, what’s something the United States military does best? Besides all of those nasty statistics, I mean. That’s right; giant machines that solve up to 800 problems a minute! I slaved over a hot Blender to give you an emplaced BFG to mount up behind your sandbags:

Emplaced Heavy Machine Gun

That’ll conclude the media for this half of the year. “But wait,” you cry out. “What if I can’t wait until June to see more pictures?” Ah, now you’re asking the right questions. Lucky for you, we’ve thought of that. With our new release schedule we’ve decided to make an effort to be more open in our Peer Review Community Discord server! Over there we’ll be engaging with the community, posting more exclusive and frequent WIP content, and even having public development discussions. Climb on in and join the cool kids!

And for the even cooler kids, if you’ve got skills, we’ve got a spot for you on the team. This is a big project, and more hands are always welcome. We’ve still got a need for 3D artists, especially, character artists, but we’ve got space for just about everything besides audio and writing positions. If you wanna volunteer, head on over to the PSR application form and show us what you’ve got!.

Lastly, if you just wanna hear from us every now and then and be alerted to the main updates like this one, we’ve also got a Twitter profile that you’re free to follow. Works from our team, cool fan art, and project updates are what we’re all about on there.

As always, we’re thankful that you guys keep up with us! If you’ve got any questions, comments, concerns, cries of outrage, or feedback, feel free to let us know! We love hearing what you’ve got to say (usually), so throw some words at us.

We’ll see you soon!
