The history of TSP mod

I can announce that TSP today has its first anniversary!

The history started long ago... First, this project was to be based as an addon mod on XWWII, but as some of the devs didn't appreciate it very much, it later proved that this would be an addon mod for Forgotten Hope instead...

And so it was that the idea of the "Real-Feel" modification was born. My friend since some earlier projects - Mackan - chose to help me with the project from the first day. Some work was done for an FH-addon mod during last summer and the first mod-specific things were now produced - our 2D iron sights...

Later on Howland and FlameQuake joined, and we worked hard on the autumn. Still, after lots of discussions, I chose to let us go independent with a standalone mod. And so it was - we became the standalone mod now known as "The Sharpest Point".

Even though a year has passed, not much has been done, especially as we came in late, and didn't plan to make a standalone mod in the first place. Also, with BF2 around the corner, it's hard to get a good spot on the dev scene. Anyway, these last weeks have shown that we've got great potential and the progress is going forward!

With these words I would like to (again!) thank my wonderful co-workers! You all do a great job and I can see we've got potential! Keep up the good work and walk in peace!

New mod content

To tell you about some of the latest things which will be found in the mod upon next release:

- A totally new damage system with over 400 zones defined
- Realistic projectiles and damage templates
- Added realistic tanks with ammunition swithes (HE/AP)
- New vehicle behaviour, acting realistic on ground and in slopes
- New maps

Of course, more presentations will follow as the stuff get more completed! Stay tuned for updates or release announcements!
