It seems on the face of it that you are making the artefacts more of a negative part of the game that a positive part of the game.

I would honestly prefer it that way. The notion of duct-taping random rocks to your belt buckle and receiving amazing benefits for it seems just a little strange.

Look at a few of the rest.

When I upload the healing ones, you'll see that the rate that they heal the player is roughly the equivalent to how much these types decrease the player's health.

For instance, fervent crystal has +1000% health regen.

Thorn is nothing compared to urchin, and urchin is nothing compared to stone porcupine.

Description

Artifacts that come from the Burnt Fuzz plant contain a poisonous substance which can be used to protect cells from radiation.

However use of these artifacts is rather crude, since it involves pricking the skin with their barbs in order to allow it to envenomate the user. There are also serious side-effects, the venom is a powerful anti-coagulant, which interferes with the healing of wounds and even light bruising could lead to severe bleeding. Long term use can also damage the liver. And the barbs themselves pose the risk for injury from blunt trauma.

Recently, there have been scientific efforts to harness the active ingredient for use in experimental anti-radiation drugs that mitigate the number and severity of side effects produced by the unrefined venom and its hazardous method of delivery.
