About:
Zombie Nations is a 1st/3rd person Action/Adventure mod for Half-Life 2. The goal is to capture the mood and tension of classic horror/sci-fi and especially zombie movies, while presenting the story in a novel way and allowing the player to experience this with inventive forms of gameplay.
Setting:
Our story is set several generations later in a crumbling future and man is trying to rebuild and maintain sanity in a world ruled by unspeakable evil. The aging relics of the past coexist with the makeshift tech of the future. Zombie Nations will take place in various locales across the globe, allowing us to change the style of architecture, characters, and mise-en-scene where appropriate.
Gameplay:
The flow will be mission-based, where each map represents a chapter in an unfolding story. There will be multiple ways to complete a mission, but all will equally prepare the player for the next chapter, the plot of which will naturally follow from the last. These chapters will be released periodically as new maps for download in a serial, episodic based system.
Player:
The gameplay will primarily be Single-Player, with cooperative modes planned in the future. 1-3 main character classes are planned upon first release. The different character classes will affect ones abilities and starting equipment, but there will be no complicated numeric system to follow or ?gcharacter rolling?h. The 3rd person aspect allows us to explore a hand-to-hand fighting system tjat is not present in other UT2k3 mods at this time. Fans of H2H combat games will not be disappointed, as things like combos and special moves are implemented.
Weapons:
There are a number of different custom weapons planned that will fit into the theme of Zombie Nations. Expect a blend of low and high-tech even within the same weapon. Some weapons will only be able to be used by certain character classes and the condition of a weapon will affect its performance. The condition will be obvious from the look of the weapon, once again allowing the player to not worry about a numerical system.
Enemies:
The setting of Zombie Nations is basically ?ghell on a future earth?h, allowing our imagination to run wild and pit the player against nightmarish creatures. The mainstay of the enemies will be zombies, but many of mans fears will be brought to life before this war ends. Even the zombies themselves will vary across locations and a ?gcharacter perturbation?h system is in development to make each enemy slightly different.
Being in a team is like a family, I give them the week off and still they want to work lol. Anyway to start of with my good friend Astra has made a short ingame movie of zombie nations BETA1 to wet your appetites.
For our demo we will have 5 weapons out of many many more and im happy to share with you that our first gun for the demo is finally complete.

you guys should really add vehicles that can hold about four ppl max unless its like a tank or a rigged train that can go on land like land of the dead.. heheheeh {-_+}
