Great mod.

Love the two difficulty choices during installation.

WARNING!
The 'hardcore' version has no minimum damage inflicted by players so beware.

I'd say that the 'casual' version is also harder, esp in the start but becomes normal as the game progresses.

So good

Very good "Vanilla +" experience for the "casual" version. Hardcore changes how the game is experienced too much for me personally. Overall I recommend the basic version.

Finished the hardcore version with mercenary (lvl55) - strenght build (one handed and crossbow)

I mostly liked the new features and had mostly fun finishing the game.

-I figured out u can use potions during battle way too late XD (when fighting final boss).
-Bosper skin expansion is briliant - nice source of gold
- I burned more potions and food than in gothic 2 and 1 combined
- Gold was always in demmand which is great.

but there are some stuff that bothered me:

- "soft" skill have idiotic explanations of what they do = needs a manual
- it feels like a trap spending LP on non combat skill since you don't do any damage and it's hard to level up in beginning.
- Seekers feel to OP compared to the rest of enemies and they auto attack NPCs.
- the Extra map locations mostly feel empty = no lore, no usefull loot, just exp and expences (at least put some rare plants and stone tablets in there)
- I had to cheese a lot of fights to progress the story despite milking all exp possible beforehand.
- alternative armors were never usefull cause of high stat demand especially in Jakhendar (I used digger trousers and mercenary armor all gameplay)
- Crossbow aiming glitch still there
- Shield glitching out every 1/3 save/loads.
- dragon egg potion needed master brewing skill is crap (I could make strenght potion and it wasn't enough)
- if u break 1 lockpick each chest = most chests not worth opening

Still thanks to the mod creators for a new gothic experience.

This mod is a **** stain on Gothic 2 name, filled with plenty of stuff that don't fit in the slightest with lore and "immersion", starting from the weird items like milakee, star fungi etc, then an extremely high amount of recipes, books and letters written in a odd and corny english that does everything other than fitting with the game.

The amount of bugs I ran into in 30+ hours of gameplay got out of hand really quick, from shield that wont stop bugging (hero starts parrying with the sword instead of using shield as intended), forging completely broken that allows extremely easy raw steel duplication, Trolls having stone throwing plug-in which is basically aimbot (not to say the boulders get stuck mid air 9 times out of 10).

Minecrawlers of any kind completely lack health bar for some reason (?), levers in Irdorath that make your hero stuck upon interacting with them, forcing repeated save and load shenanigans.

As for balance, the mod favours Dex builds really heavy, since bows always do damage without having to worry about critting, also in melee Dodge (which needs a stat check of you having more Dex than your enemy) is by far superior to blocking, which puts STR builds to a big disadvantage. No reason at all to use Two-handers since you wont be able to block most end-game enemies and monsters, and also the damage from those totally doesn't justify the enormous requirements and the fact that your crit chance is in fact the hitchance makes 2H extremely tedious.

The "new" areas are basically copypasted from other mods like nostalgic etc, they serve as exp only areas filled with 2343 orcs and skeletons with basically zero valuable loot. Totally unrewarding and no point even doing them unless you in bad need of exp.

Best part was by far Salandril quest as mercenary, did it in chapter 5 with endgame gear after defeating Ice dragon a few moments earlier, the guy drinks a potion (obiviously copypasted from Archolos) and suddently becomes more tanky and deals more damage than the dragon (?????) itself, that says everything about the design of this mod.

The models are complete trash, weird hats and helmets, shields and weapons that you can tell were made by someone with no clue on the matter. Played Archolos right before this and I can safely assume the Author wishes he could model as good as Kroniki Myrtany team, but maybe he's not as good as he thought?

A good amount of stuff that works in NOTR by default has plenty of bugs/glitches in this mod, including terrible performance (even with DX11 on), so much for being stable and less buggy than base game. This is clearly a bum version of Gothic 2.

Based mod, balanced, G2 on steroids that doesnt stray too far from what we loved many years ago.

Best mod for the base game.Huge improvements!

Even after an electrical surge that made Czudak lose 6 months of work, the mod is still being developed.

This mod is the epithome of passion.

I really like it.

Big Gothic 2 update
