Winter Warfare is a modification set during a fictional version of World War 2 were a new Ice Age has begun. The Battle of Britian fails and Operation Sealion is a sucsess, the Soviets are defeated at Stalingrad and Kursk, D-Day fails, Italy never surrendered and Japan invaded Hawaii. This mod tells the story after the main Allied Powers have fallen such as the United States, Britian and the Soviets, instead it focuses on the remaining allies as they fight in brutal winter weather aganist a huge Axis force.
Without complete access to the same facilities as Germany, Italy was unable to better their armoured arsenal. Subsequently, this led to older models being pressed into service to prevent expenditure. The E-75 became the heavy tank of Italy, but was only used in the local area.
The Carro-Amarto P40 suffered similar problems as all Italian tanks: slow speed with a limited amount of armour. Comparatively far weaker than its other medium tank counterparts, the lack of curvature and more extreme slopes made it easy for shells to catch and penetrate the armour. It did sport a long-range gun, and so, like the M16/43, was better suited for a support role rather than direct combat.
