Those amongst you may remember a Star Trek Armada 1 mod that was made many years that went unfinished (it was aprox. 75% completed). Well with a new game and game engine to mod comes a bigger and, hopefully, more complete version. WCI is now being slowly compiled for the Star Wars Empire at War expansion and is going to be solely a space based conversion. We are recreating a majority of the stock WC models to better fit the needs of the game engine and there is going to be significant usage of the capital ship fighter launch capabilities. There is going to be extensive changes to as much of the game as possible and news updates will be posted here, so stand by...... and stay tuned.
Well here it is. v2.5 of the project in its complete version so far. This beta will be the last for a while, so I can concentrate on a few other things, but rest assured. I will be carrying on with this at a later date.
It's great to see the constant progress and updates made to this mod!
Thanks Chris, but I can't take all the credit. Theres so much content in here that I just wouldn't have had access to under normal circumstances. Although I've been building this mod myself, its the countless times that various help has been provided, be it textures, modding (direct and indirect) and donated model assets that has enabled me to get as far as I have.
i got it installed but i cant seem to get it to run. any ideas?
Did you follow the instructions which give clear indications as to how to install and run the mod. The mod has been extensively tested and found to be working fine.
Issues: I installed it as said in the instructions (also tried the petrolauncher for 64 Bit systems). When I run it the main menu shows wc capital ships, but it still doesn't work. (I can only choose Empire, Rebels, ...)
When I enter skirmish, there is only one available (Venus sector), other than official skirmishes. If I run it (Empire, Rebels, Zann) these factions actually ARE Confeds, Nephs and Kilrathi, but there are no description texts whatsoever.
I am at a loss...

Sorry to say this mutant-enemy, but because I have little to no prior knowledge of working with windows 7 (my pc has always used XP) I've no idea what could be the inherent problem your having. You could try posting on an EAW forum. Perhaps someone there knows how to get mods working correctly under win7.

I ran into the same thing. The batch file starts the program "swfoc.exe" with the switch "MODPATH=Mods\WCInvasion".
To get it to work, put the full path of the "swfoc.exe" program (on mine it was "C:\Program Files (x86)\LucasArts\Star Wars Forces of Corruption\swfoc.exe" and then put "MODPATH=Mods\WCInvasion" after it. It will look like this:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\LucasArts\Star Wars Forces of Corruption\swfoc.exe" MODPATH=Mods\WCInvasion
If your path to the game has spaces in it (like mine did), you must have the quotes around the path to the executive file (the one ending in "exe"). The MODPATH just needs the path to the mods in relation to where the executive file is (in this case "mods\wcinvasion".
It took me about an hour of "fiddling" with it to get it to work (which was completely on me...this was the first mod I've ever run for Forces of Corruption), but I have to say that it's more than worth the time.
Super Kudos to the creator of this mod. I liked Forces of Corruption, but have been a long-time fan of Wing Commander (since 1992 when the first game came out). This mod is a true "labor of love" and is brilliantly done and has breathed new life into a game I had on the shelf and made it more entertaining to boot. Even down to the point that the Terran Confederation's "big gun" packs a huge wallop, but has almost zero shielding and armor (which was a major story point in "Wing Commander 3").
Cheers!
