Modern Warfare Mod brings World in Conflict from the Cold War into the Modern Age. It also ups the ante on realism and authenticity in every role – Infantry, Armor, Support and Air, while trying our best to keep everything relatively balanced for fun and interesting gameplay.
Infantry's air defense weapon for World in Conflict game.
Proportional navigation guidance is used for en-route flight. Guidance switches to lead-collision during the remaining 0.1 second of flight to direct the warhead onto the center of target's airframe.
There is no proximity fuse (impact fuse only), thus missile could be dodged with quick maneuver and some luck.
Maybe you could release another video showing just how hard/easy it is to doge one of these missiles?
Towards the end I saw one of the missiles missed a Hind completely and that was flying in a straight line.
The Stinger missile does not have a proximity fuse, it's impact only. So there is no 100% guarantee that it will score a direct hit all the time, as rocket kinematics come to play.
And no, it's not easy to dodge these things, it's actually very hard -- if you do not have flares/chaff charged.
To dodge the missile without having flares, you have about 1 in 10 times chance of defeating it with just maneuver alone, IMO.
Don't even bother doing turning maneuvers, they only make it easier for missile to kill you. The best way to outmaneuver the missile is to overload the missile seeker's LOS rate. Wait until it comes close, then reverse-move immediately before impact. Split second LOS rate change before impact will overrun the bore-sight limits of the missile seeker and cause it to lose lock completely.
But of course, this does not work at all against AIM-9X fired from medium chopper, since AIM-9X's off-bore sight angle is a whooping 180 degrees, lol.
It prob was a dud missile xD
why the smoke trail dissapear when the missile explodes ?
Because there is no more missile to create smoke -.-
You've got it spot on, man.
alenoguerol wonders why the smoke trail doesn't fade out but completely disappear when the stinger explodes, it looks unnatural at least.
