Time for the big guns...
2.6 Update News
Today I bring you a small update on the progress of the 2.6 patch.
First, I have went over the AI code extensively for the next release, and tweaked almost all the AI files. The bots are more aggressive now, make better choices in weaponry when attacking different targets, use landmines, call for artillery, and much more. While some of these weapons (landmines, binoculars, etc) are still a little sketchy in their use and effectiveness, this is a HUGE step forward for the Single Player of the mod. I will continue to tweak the AI as I receive feedback from the community...
Second up, while the Type 94 Isuzu truck was only introduced in the last release, I decided to model and texture my own version rather than use the previous model. Here are some screens of the newer model/texture...
And now, for the big guns...
I know y'all have enjoyed playing the KV-2 as much as I have, with it's massive firepower, but let's face it...it was slow and cumbersome, and it's battlefield life was short-lived. Not wanting to give up on such an awesome gun, however, the Russians found a way to squeeze that 122mm behemoth into the much more agile chassis of the T-34...and the SU-122 was born.
Now, while still suffering from a long reload, you have a much more effective mobile artillery platform to utilize on the 'Front.
Not to be outdone, the Germans decided to send more firepower to the 'Front in the form of the Sd.Kfz. 165, also known as the Hummel (Bumblebee). With a 15cm howitzer mounted on a Geschützwagen III/IV chassis, you have a very large gun on a very mobile platform. While the reload time is much better than that of it's Russian counterpart, it is a 2-man vehicle with separate driver/gunner positions.
Well, that's all I have for this update. I'm testing some new maps at the moment, and making sure "most" everything works, but I should hopefully have a new patch release ready around the first of the year, so keep an eye out!

Will the British get the Lee-Enfield rifle eventually?
They have had the No.4 since the game came out...? Are you referring to another model specifically?
Oh, forgot, the issue in the base game it only has 5 shots, in reality it has 10. But if you make it 10 the Russians will need the Mosin-Nagant.
Thank you, I have changed the No4 to 10 rounds, and the Russians already have the Mosin-Nagant :)
I haven't checked everything, but do the Americans have a Springfield yet? Since that would also be affected by the 10 round change if they keep the No. 4 on the Sniper kit.
Yes the Americans have the Springfield
Some more bugs and suggestions:
Class images and text don't match sometimes, officer with LMG image or anti-tank called Rifleman.
TT33 and Beretta has animation bug where if you click fast enough gun fires without animation.
K98 and some other bolt-action animation happens after rifle already forward, is this intended?
American Sniper on Kasserine Pass has Springfield with no scope.
StG44 flash is in the middle of the gun.
All the Italian maps have no briefing.
M1 Carbine for American paratroopers possible? Since the Garand was heavy for airborne operations.
No light machine gunners on maps, no Brens / BARs / DP28 etc., intentional?
No anti-tank classes, difficult to deal with tanks, intentional?
Some map menu images the same (Midway - Santa Cruz, Guam - Iwo Jima).
thank you for the report, I will look into these ASAP. Yes, some of the things you mentioned were intentional, but I will continue to take suggestions concerning gameplay, thank you again :)
Aren't lmg supposed to be pickups?
On most maps, yes, I may have missed a couple tho...
A little work on realistic sounds would be nice, especially plane mg's and 20mm cannons, on some planes can't hear 20mm cannon shooting i think spitfire...its not to much work but means a lot for the game. My advice for my favourite mod.
