War of the Silmarils is a sub-mod of Third Age: Total War, the ever popular total conversion for Medieval II: Total War Kingdoms. The goal is to follow the lore as closely as possible and faithfully reproduce the heroic First Age of Tolkien's Middle-earth in the Medieval II: Total War engine. War of the Silmarils features many new unique factions, each complete with a roster of units, a completely new campaign map of Beleriand and the lands to the North, and much more. So if you're one of the many who have been enthralled by Tolkien's mystical world, this is a mod to watch!
The Eglain ("The Forsaken", in Sindarin, a name of the Elves of the Falas), bodyguard of Círdan and his captains, armed with great bows and axes, and clad in tall helms inspired by the Noldor, and heavy fish's mail coats, bearing the white swan of Círdan on their banners.

There dwells in the west of Beleriand an elvish nation, who, for their love of the sea, were never to delight in Aman’s radiance. The name of Eglain, “forsaken,” was given them, and it remains unto this day. But great fame have these Sindar won as mariners under arms, guided as they were to victory by the expert hand of the Shipwright and his captains. It is for this very reason that the Falas’ leaders must be jealously protected on the field.
Upon the best warriors of Cirdan’s folk are girt the heavy bow and stout axe with which they guard their lords, paired of course with helms and shields to guard themselves. They close around their captain like the arms of a safe harbor, and will doubtless fight alongside him to their deaths if so enjoined. These elves are therefore among the most war-ready soldiers that the peaceful Falas can muster. Their duty and honor fly as proudly as any noble’s banner.
Very nice!
