A stranger slowly approaches the old town, a strange atmosphere lingering in the air all around him...

"What is this place", he asks himself again and again? "What have I stumbled upon in the middle of this silent night?"

Human curiosity drove him to the outskirts of his home and beyond, drove him to investigate the rumored location: A village in the middle of nowhere, home to nobody... He begins to question his decisions, not being certain if this was a good idea.

Thick layers of dust, old remnants of the past, cover almost every of the wooden buildings. The pale moon gently throws it's mysterious light at the sillhouetes surrounding the man's suddenly so very insignificant seeming little existence.

Shadows are lurking behind every corner, every broken window, every piece of abandoned furniture in his path... Human senses are quick to alarm him about the dangers a fragile mind would certainly fear out of simple-minded nature. Danger which have yet to make their presence known.

Suddenly... His heartbeat stops for a split-second as he feels a cold shiver traveling down his spine. Night-blind eyes frantically move about within their narrow sockets, a desperate attempt to spot whatever he think has just moved about in the very distance. Then a second wave of movement attracts his nervous attention, behind the open window of a nearby house. The man realizes that he is all by himself, lost to the world as well as the apperitions of the night waiting to feast on their easy prey.

As the noises close in on him, the man ponders the idea to just run like hell out of the village. However it is already to late for such wishful thinking. The merciless hands of death have already reached out to claim a new soul. And before the man can even use his chance to finish the thought, within the same second his shocked body already collapses onto the ground without taking another breath.

"If only he'd listened to the old tales. Yes, if only..."

Thank you. My little story here is actually not "fan-fiction", but meant to represent the music, it's elements and such. The tale begins with the calm, mysterious part of it and then goes on to the dangerous bit - until it suddenly stops. I love doing this kind of thing.
