During a search for a lost girl, two close friends make a shocking discovery. Deep in the thick forests of Sweden, they find a deserted town, with no signs of any life within miles. Atmosphere: The atmosphere is built up using sprites, environment lights and color correction.
Grain effect and black bars: Yes, these are made in Photoshop. The screenshots have not been altered in ANY other way.

It's a mix of environment light, color correction and sprites. Only the slight grain effect and the bars were added in Photoshop, nothing else. This is actually how it looks in-game.

I think the sandbox should be removed, or empty.
The environment looks to be extremely windy and cold (obviously). It would be illogical for someone to make a sandbox in such a place.
Nah, I like it. Gives it a sense of abandonment, like this used to be a happy town but what the hell happened?
Besides, it's clearly autumn/winter! And it's night! Of course the place is cold :P

I'd say leave it... but it could use a frosty texture (or perhaps some fallen brown leaves) to strengthen the 'sense of abandonment'.
