Vanilla? Madder AKA VMD or VMD Sim is a Deus Ex vanilla conversion focused heavily on RPG and roleplay elements, immersive sim gameplay, modernization/QOL, and more. Skill trees, hunger/stress/smell systems, in depth character customization, status effects from foods, and so much more are included. It also boasts the ability to run with almost any mod, and, in the future, will be able to be used as a near-universal starting point for any total conversion. Note: While not beta or demo, the project is in phase 1 of development. The project will reach its ultimate form at phase 4. Even at this relatively early point in its life, it is ready for quite a few hours of gameplay and boasts many fun features. Arguably, it is very much worth at least one try. Or not. You're allowed to dislike it, too.

I enjoyed this mod a lot. The gameplay modification it already adds are very well thought.
Special mention to the roll ability.
Good luck for the next phases.

Deus Ex Vanilla Madders Review and First Impressions

The Deus Ex modding scene consist of many gameplay revamps and polishes that make the original vanilla game feel fresh and fun. However, none of these mods come close to the extreme potential VMD has.
From playing through Liberty Island, I can tell a ton of effort and thought was put into the modification.
What the modification entails is that it revamps and builds upon the original design philosophy while adding new features that add to the RPG mechanics.

One of these includes a talent tree that lets you expand upon the individual skill. For instance, if you add skill points to computers you can build on that with an additional skill tree that gives you additional skills such as saving emails when hacking into a computer etc. These skills also have a nonlinear aspect to them. You don’t have to choose a singular one and build from there. They can branch off into a skill tree where you can decide which one to play through
Stuff like that will add a ton of replayability to an already well regarded classic.

So, a mod like this has a ton of potential to grow and add more upon it. And with some mod support it could possibly add ways to add other mods like Revision into the mix. VMD could possibly support all kinds of mods.

The feedback I would give is to add some tip system or expand upon the training session which can explain the new features that the mod will have.

Plus, I would also add the training session as an option to play through after creating the character since having a female JC Denton would look jarring after going through training.

In short, this mod is amazing, and any DX fan should give it a
