Hello there!
It has now been 9 months since the Prologue was released and the Production on Chapter 1 began, and now I can honestly say that this is a really big and ambitious project.
Saying that beforehand might seem like a boast, but when it's actually being done and over 60% completion it's just saying what is.
First things first, Chapter 1's release will come with a Remake of the Prologue, since the game is being ported over to the Orange Box, it just seemed like the best idea, it also allows me to fix some issues with the Prologue and add some things into it such as:
- A brand new tutorial featuring "Jake's SWAT Training"
- New events in The House + Weather effects and HDR
- Improved system for the Diary and the Mails
- Improved Day/Night cycle + Clock actually tells the time
- A Dream Catcher to avoid the Dream World
All the improvements will of course be present in the Chapter 1 house and every new iteration of The House.
Throughout the production, many people contacted me asking questions about the mod, and in a way I feel flattered, but many of the questions were spoiler related or numbers related, (ie. percentage of completion, number of levels finished, hours of gameplay ect...)
Well here's a simple fact about estimated numbers, they are inaccurate.
But I have been cleaning my folders and organizing the mod to try to make those "number lovers" happy, and here are the numbers (so far) :
12 voice actors
1682 lines of dialogue
31 maps
1 Level Designer
16 Important characters
17 weapons
37 Contributors
16 749 files
563 folders
1.97 GB (Uncompressed)
784 MB (Compressed)
So there you go, those numbers include the Prologue and Chapter 1, so if you compare the size of the Prologue (507 MB) to the size of the Chapter 1 + Prologue Remake (784 MB), you get a very nice value.
But enough chit chat, you are here for the trailer, there it is, enjoy:
Very excited about the new house improvements! plus the "swat tutorial."
Aaaaaah! Man, keep it up! I think Chapter One will win MOTY 2012, lol!
YES! Loving the new updates! ^^ Can't wait for a more better house to enjoy "her" scares in. :3
I dont know your working basis of this project, but the effort and content youv managed to put togehter is HUGE! The quality is at commerical level, regardless of some bugs that i encountered on my playtrough, it was an AMAZING experience.
This and "Get a Life" (sadly so underrated) have made HUGE impact on SP - campaing based mods.
I think that you really deserve a place in the MOTY my friend. Hope the people here see your talent and cast their votes.
This is gonna be another epic work...
Can't wait for that chapter !!
THIS IS GOING TO BE EPIC!
I have to say, from just the Prologue, the game is pretty awesome. I really enjoyed it and am really looking forward to Chapter One, also, I posted my vote for you in MOTY. The only thing that I REALLY didnt like about Underhell, is that is unfinished. I wish you luck in all your modding experiences, and keep up the good work!
Congrats on everything man, I'm totally pumped for the release, and will be spamming my Youtube channel with videos when it's released. It's amazing that all of this is your work. You put so much time and effort into it, and it shows, and everyone loves the result. You have something special, keep it up.
1 Level Designer...to rule them all!
I'm excited for the whole damn thing.
Loved the prologue and I'm looking forward to Chapter 1. I've tried to promote this game to anyone I can. I do have a suggestion for the trailer though, at least add SFX! Please don't take any of the following personally, I want this mod to succeed so I'm just offering a different perspective! The trailer just doesn't seem to do the mod justice, I would not show it to my friends who might normally be interested in the game because I feel it gives the wrong impression. One thing the game did fantastically was atmosphere, with just music and dialogue sound files playing in sequence it seems completely void of life. I cringed a little bit at the government conspiracy part, but that could just be me. Maybe it was rushed, or you were pressured to do it a certain way, or there just isn't time for it, but I know you are capable of making a better trailer we'd be pumped to show to friends!
I have not finish the prologue yet... but what can I say... It´s AWESOME!! Love it!!! Congrat for the work!!!
Can´t wait for C1... It´s there any release date?!?!
