Description

The UEM Flechette Rifle is the natural evolution of the military shotgun. The weapon uses a composite polymer block, combining high density flechettes and propellant that is fed magazine style into the firing chamber.

The flechettes cause damage by causing kinetic energy impacts on the target, making it useful for combat against bots shielded against piercing attacks. Due to the natural spread of the weapon, it is most ideal for CQB and decreases in effectiveness as range increases.

Upgrades to the weapon are available to experienced users.
At level 1, alternate fire allows the operator to 'overload' the firing chamber, firing double the number of flechettes. The overload requires the weapon to cool before firing, increasing the time before the weapon can fire.
At level 2, the density of the polymer block increases, allowing more flechettes to be fired with each round.
At level 3, the flechettes are modified to fragment on impact with hard targets, producing out razor sharp splinters on impact.
At level 4, the flechettes are modified with titanium barbs, increasing damage on impact.
At level 5, the polymer block is modified to hold extra flechettes, increasing capacity.
At level 6, the weapon chamber is fitted with a ultra-fast cooling chamber. The chamber allows the weapon to fire at almost double the original fire rate.
