So I know a lot of you had issues with the old construction menu button. We've decided to go a slightly different visual direction - one that stands out more. It's important to remember that the UI bar kinda represents the hivefleet view of what's going on down on the ground.
With that in mind our genius coder decided to make his own new Tyranid psyker. So, for your viewing pleasure... the new, hivemind-adapted UI bar:
We're also working on putting in the final balance tweaks, fixing up minor holes in the skinning and various other things to bring a bit more polish. We don't have a release date as yet, but as you can see, we're chugging along.
0.5b2 FAQ:
So we seem to be getting the same three questions over and over from new people downloading 0.5b2. To save time, here they are in short form, with their relevant answers:
Why don't I have a builder?!
Click the button at the centre-top of the UI bar across the bottom.
Why does my build menu go away when I select a unit?! Why doesn't it come back when I de-select that unit?!
Because selecting a unit de-selects the hivefleet - exactly the same as when you click a unit that isn't your builder, you won't have your builder selected.
Why is the AI not doing anything?!
Have you installed the CPU player patch yet?

Will the multiplayer issue also be addressed? I loved the 0.5b2, but the lack of multiplayer was a bit of a bummer.

Hi, we have the problem, that my friends gets kicked from the game right after the beginning. We both have the mod installed and try to play through Steam.
Do they get any error messages?
Did you both install de AI patch?
Ok, so here is my idea. In either Great Devourer mode or normal Skirmish/multiplayer, the giant hive-spire things should be able to call down a feeder tendril, in the same way maybe as a ion-strike? Or maybe make it a building or unit?, from a Hiveship to start consuming the planet, it uses 90-100% of the power (faith) bar and exudes an arua that harms units and buildings in a steadily expanding area, eventualy killing all but the Tyranids and thus, completing the game and being frakking awesome. Also, the feeder tendril should prehaps have health or something? So that it can be forced to disconnect and thus saves the 'planet' Oh, and you should only be able to call 1-3 tendrils, prehaps depending on map size?
Oh, and i think Gauntii hives should look more like their table-top counterparts:

The Brood Nest was made by Forgeworld after our mod had building models. That said, I think what we intend on doing with the Gauntii Hive will justify it staying the way it is.
Awesome mod guys, keep up the good work! I'm assuming there are more sound effects to be added for future releases?

hey sirs, any updates? or even a newer ai for the nids? they cant keep up with any race as of now.. they build a base and all but, well, they get beaten easily by every other race..
That's a known bug we've been looking at.
