An excellent mode for single player and playing with friends. One faces a significantly greater challenge that actually requires strategies and skills even with the best equipments. On the big plus side, grinding in this game becomes unnecessary: the stores and the new Horadric cube formulas make equipment-crafting pleasant, and you can get everything with them (for some extreme combination, patience is still needed). At the same time, items are largely balanced, allowing more interesting and strategical combinations.

I think skill balance is still not perfect, but significantly better than the original; say only 140~180 skills of the 210 total are useful (useful not only because of synergies) in this mode (compared to like 60~90 in the original). By the way, the idea that hirings have more slots, in particular to fully equip most sets, is just awesome. There are so many things that Blizzard should just learn from the author of this mod.

FYI, UdieToo still works when used with extra care (use copied character to avoid inventory lost). I recommend only to get infinite money with it but not more to avoid spoiling the awesome game.

brutal, yet fair mod. i'm a big fan of the reworked skill and economy balance, plus new combat pace is pretty much what i wanted to see in this game from the start. i'm not too far into the mod so far and sometimes feel like complaining about the difficulty, but then i realise i'm not using this or that thing available to me because of the old habits and i start using it and everything becomes so much better.

Awesome work. Unlike most mods featured with total conversion, TSW chooses to adhere to the original style, which is rather appealing to me simply because I don't want to play a diablo mod without classic diablo feeling and elements. Initial drastic stamina drain is indeed hard to get used to but still can be solved by potions and items, hence it would not become a real problem in the long run. Apart from that, I considerably enjoy this mod as a fusion of the best of Diablo 1 and Diablo 2, even though I haven't beaten Baal in hell difficulty. If you are looking for an enhancement mod full of challenge, balance, convenience and nostalgia, this is a must-try.

Excellent mod for a true D2 player!! No more easy game, but not too hard to play. You need to think a lot in character devleop and imporeve your control skills (or mouse clicking speed lol). The mod is really hard before Act 4, but after you kill mephisto, u'll get whatever equip you need from vendors. And you need use it well to fight the evils ahead. It's really a good mod, and not too defferent to original D2. I really like it!
