This is the first release of the new MP mode. Based for Singleplayer and Multiplayer custom battles ONLY! The MP mode hasn't any CAMPAIGN!
Factions will include certain conflict timeframes (era's). First era is era 4 (1860's).
Install:
1. Extract the "TotalFotS_MPmode_0.000484.7z" and open the extracted folder (USE 7zip!).
2. Copy/Paste the 11 totalf_.....pack files to your Shogun 2 data folder (Usually found by default at C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Total War SHOGUN 2\data).
4. Run the game and activate the totalf_...pack files with mod manager.
5. Enjoy the game!
Delete the following folder in the Appdata (C:\Users\user_name\AppData\Roaming\The Creative Assembly\Shogun2): advice_history, army_setups, battle_preferences, editor_fx_cache, fx_cache, logs, replays (backup your replays from vanilla game first (or mods). scripts (user.script ONLY!), ui_cache.
This resets the game when you get unexpected ctd's!
What is included in the first release?
- Era 4 factions (1860's) will be the focus first.
- The American Civil war factions (CSA and USA) are included in this release.
- New battlemaps have been added (some made by other map makers (but customized to fit the mod), see credit list).
- New battle mechanics (stats) that will form the base for other Total FotS projects.
- New models (units, buildings, artillery, etc...).
- And more

Last night I set up a battle between all the US Calvary units with breech loaders and a large force of Cherokee cavalry. Beforehand I edited the DB files to give the Union Cavalry kneel fire and light Infantry behaviors so that they could dismount and fire from cover as they did in many encounters on the Great Plains of the US. The Cherokees fought from horseback, as was often the case out West – at least from what I have read.
It was a desperate affair with the Cherokees eventually overwhelming the outnumbered troopers.
If only we could get the AI to default to light infantry and skirmishing behaviors, these light Cavalry vs. mounted Infantry battles would play out very realistically.

BAI is just....bad. Sadly that's one of the frustrations i had when modding the game. I wish CA could give us the right tools for that, but i doubt it. The MP mode is made especially playing multiplayer battles.
Can a timeframe be given to when the beta will be released or is it still to be determined?

The MP mode (Civil war Mod) I know that the alpha was released but was wondering when it would leave the alpha stage of development and move into the beta stage and/or if a timetable could be given at this time on when that transition would be or if that was still to be determined.
When it's ready. The Alpha is just to test to see how stable the MP mode is. It will be out of alpha stage sooner than later.
