It was just another day ... I thought. I stared out at the wasteland. Nothing much. The usual green glow filling my surroundings ... That was until I saw the swarm; creeping, edging up on my post ... things I had never seen before... These hellacious creatures storming out from the tiberian forest ... When I saw the shadow of the lumbering behemoth emerging from the mist ... I knew it was time to take my leave...
Introducing black zones. A new/old twist on the tiberium universe, previouslly unclassified, these new zones have developed from the unchecked red zones. With the scrin no longer threatening earth to the extent as before, these creatures from the past along with some new ones, have started to emerge again, wrecking havoc on the earth. Upon scientific analysis, the breakdown of the tiberian glaciers has resulted in a cataclysmic event, causing cells to mutate at the micro-biologic level. The tiberium is changing the planet. What we once thought to be a world killer ... is responding ... and defending itself with vigorous force. Time will tell who will win the war... Us... or Tiberium ...
PizzaAtomica made some new concept art!! told you :D -S_P_R
the big black blob looks like this

So I take it the plot will either stray towards 'Forgotten' territory(lol at my pun) Or pretty much stay the same...
I can't foresee any other plot outcome unless you guys have a hell of a twist planned.
I can say this much, that we dumped the whole CnC4 story and building it from the ground up. Starting point is 2052. We decided to leave what happened in the third tiberium war and consider that the flora and fauna retreated and now are re-emerging in their full strength via black zones. The previous period was just like a part of evolution.
you should so totally make them a playable faction!
Fear the floaters they will consume us all! XD
Wow, a red zone now gets worse with a black zone? Holy man! :o
By the way, the Forgotten may label as Green Zone as Forgotten territory, that's my opinion if we have another zone. Particularly we now got 4 and plus the Forgotten as 5.
But, can you tell the difference between a Red & Black Zone, visually? I'm still scratching my head on this one. Correct me if I'm wrong, there was a mission in Firestorm where you play as Nod to overwhelm GDI with pure Tiberian creatures (Not to mention lots of harmless Tiberian fauna), I bet that is a Black Zone, right?
The black zone is more of a classification than a type of "red zone gone bad". While red zones are barren landscapes littered with tiberian glaciers, torrential winds and decimated by war, black zones have grown unchecked. Black zones will still feature smaller ion storms, but even more dangerous will be the toxic tiberium rain harmful to earth's "natural life". The only thing unaffected by it is the new tiberium wildlife and some forgotten... We are discussing implementing the red tiberium from TS as a form of "ultimate catalyst" that has caused this to occur.
For reference, the difference between a black and red zone is vast. A black zone is similar to the forests of Pandora, from Avatar, only more deadly. Quite different from the red zone's you are accustom to.
The inspiration behind this is here: Cnc.wikia.com
On that page you will notice tiberium blossom tree forests and strange new plants. We plan on utilizing these again in the tiberian universe, much like Tiberian Sun did.
And to comment on the above posts:
- about the shadow, well, a shadow can be anything, but no. That looks harmless compared to what we have planned.
- The forgotten will play a part in the mod at a later date, but they are a secondary element. The plot is still early in the development stages, but we do have a few twists and turns planned.
Much like Tiberian Sun? More like Firestorm, those Tiberian plants I saw in that expansion do adds the scenery feel of Tiberium itself despite they're only just harmless looking flora (Not the "fauna" word I used just now, sorry, it was wrong), not to mention the moss as well. If you think that's bad as Black, try to add in the veinhole monsters. Red Zones? Fewer Tiberium blossom trees. Black Zones? Tons of it.
Ahh yes, the red crystals, never remembered that until you wikied that article to me. So far, keep those goodies coming! ;)
New zones? Awesome! I will no longer kill only visceroids anymore =D
Will there be re-visitation of CABAL's Genesis Pit?
Maybe
damn
thats what GDI is for
prevent tiberium but wtf they are doing nothing expect fight with Nod
sorry not only prevent tiberium from growing but also GDI has to destroy it.
War is about strategic advantage. GDI and Nod have been at war for years. Tiberium has ravaged the land. During the ongoing battles, GDI has had to make sacrifices. They defend what is valuable and try to protect what they can. Cities have been lost to the overwhelming force of tiberium, which even GDI struggles to maintain a barrier against. Its a double-edges sword. Tiberium has become a lively hood for GDI and Nod, but has decimated everything in the process. With certain red zones going unchecked, it only stands to reason they could not foresee what was developing behind the shroud of the tiberium mist. Human resources are limited in maintaining the barriers. GDI has had to sacrifice on protecting the smaller cities in order to maintain the larger cities capable of supporting more life.
Wow this is VERY Interesting!
with red zones that has destroyed buildings, mutants, pure liquid of toxic and is inhabitable im thinking that the black zones could be like the only place where youll find red tiberium, green mist, bloomosom trees, husks that cant be captured, habitat of the lifeforms from firestom C&C, humans that are infected sortof like the flood in halo, desert red land with guoee liquid all over the place and them humongest crystal montains and ironstorms.
you mean husks that can't be captured because they are exposed by tib
i think that sarajevo and the land serounding it will be a black zone (because of the LQ Tib explosion) and italy will be a black zone to(because thats the place where tib was seen for the first time)
