But the instant heal looks better since those are individual units and I won't have to bother pulling put the troops to heal back in the base or somewhere safe to deploy the hospital.
i discovered some odd unit combinations in for multiple slots in APCs. apparently engineers and commandos go in fine together. Also you can put a squad and engineer or commando together in an APC as long as the squad goes in first. Then both can exit but if the commando or engineer go in first it breaks. Its clearly CnC3 code to only support one squad for individual evacuation. Have you tried an all evacuate method as of yet like carryalls that use targeted evac or immediate all passenger evac? Also you may also try looking for Kanes Wrath reckoner code to see how they get units in and out of that before its deployed because it carries 2 by default.

You're forgetting the Red Alert 3 Allied Engineer special ability to deploy a field hospital that heals in radius.

They fixed it in Kane's Wrath, in vCnC3 it's broken however.
It backward compatible with CNC3 in case you need to fall back to squads?
No, it's not.
Technically it is, but I can't modify the CnC3 source code.
