This is an unofficial CONTINUATION for Third Age Total War, the classical Lord of the Rings Medieval 2 mod discontinued many years ago. It adds lots of new features, changes some existing ones and add many bug fixes. This unofficial release has no link to the original TATW mod creator, its a independent project. Though it uses the original mod as basis, and all credits are given to its original creators.

Hi guys!
I am playing dwarves and have low taxes set in my towns, and i am getting bandits spawning pretty frequently in supposedly very happy regions. I guess this is how the developer intended this mod to be played (constantly fighting bandit armies that spawn like mushrooms after rain), but i would prefer to not play whack-a-mole. I had a bandit army spawn right in front of Erebor, then attacked it and captured it!! Erebor! My capital! WTF? Please, can someone please tell me how to adjust the bandit spawn rate? I am a programmer and have modded plenty of games in the past but only just recently got into TATW. Please, any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

I'm assuming you have already found out how to do it, but for people who still don't know: find the descr_strat.txt file, open it and under the unlockable factions etc you should see:

brigand_spawn_value 80

Not sure what they are set at on this mod as don't have it downloaded on my Mac. However I do know that the higher the value (think maximum is 1000?) then the least likely brigands will spawn. I think it's set to something like 20 on a number of mods which means they will spawn quite frequently, I normally change it to 80 or a little higher. Obviously have bandits are a good way to train young generals so setting it all the way to 1000, or 9999 as some people do, may be too much as you will get a very minimal amount of bandits.

Hope this helps.
