Third Age: Reforged is a mod for Medieval II Total War, that aims to overhaul the multiplayer aspect of the Third Age Legacy, by thoroughly rebalancing the units and factions while also implementing tons of new content, maps, units, etc. (NOTE: campaign is still in development)
This patch contains various balance changes and improvements related to the whole gameplay of reforged and it's factions. Several changes were made to assure that each factions could be competitive and strong in it's own ways. The biggest changes were the accuracy of the fire arrows for all archers which caused some issues in 0.96. This patch promotes heavily to choose specially made bodyguards units for your armies. Those bodyguards have more impact on your armies that you think! The rest of the changes will be explained in details in the statlog.
Important Note: Make sure you have WinRAR or Winzip or 7zip installed on your computer (they are FREE you dont need to register). This will allow you to extract the downloaded files from their ZIP packs.
Please make sure to follow the exact instructions to avoid complications.

Step 1: Download the Third_Age_Reforged Patch 0.96.1
("You need to have Third_Age_Reforged 0.95 or 96 installed")
Step 2: First unpack the Third_Age_Reforged_961.zip to location of your choosing
Step 3: Open the Third Age Reforged 961.exe file and run it.
Password into Reforged: Write, *mellon*, and install.
Step 4: if you have steam installed on another location than default, you can see the correct path by opening steam - library - right click Medieval II Total War - properties - local files - browse local files
Note that installer should warn that "The selected folder already exists. Would you like to install to that folder anyway?" This means that the path is correct
Step 5: Go to your Steam Library and right-click on Medieval II Total War, select Properties, and then Set Launch Options. Insert the following string:
Step 6: Once you have done this, you will be able to launch the game by choosing the first option when launching the game on Steam. The option will simply say "Play Medieval II: Total War". This will override the default Medieval II game, so if you wish to launch the original game after installing the mod, simply remove the string from the Launch Options you inserted in Step 5.
Step 7: Choose download region on steam: UK London (the most used in the commuity)
Step 8: Change your graphics to the MULTIPLAYER settings if your playing with more than 4 players.

All Dual wielding units have been given 2 extra MD to balance their animation delay

All fire arrows are now around 30% less accurate than regular arrows and are slower aswell.
