Update 2.5 is here, part one of four consecutive updates that will be introduced that will significantly overhaul The Second Tiberium War. This version brings the long needed Infantry Overhaul, enhanced lighting, Ion Reactor for GDI, and the first two chapters of the new redesigned campaign. This update also prepares the groundwork for the upcoming Naval Expansion featured for release in version 2.6!
Campaign
The campaign has been redesigned from scratch with many improvements to flow, story, and visuals. This update will include the first two chapters of five which tell the story of events leading up to The Second Tiberium War.
Major Changes:
- New Campaign chapter 1 + 2
- All infantry have been overhauled including weapon, visuals, icons
- Ion Reactor Plug in available for GDI
- Lighting effects have been polished
Minor changes:
- Base Lamp now constructible on Night maps
- All units sight reduced
- Unit Veteran Promotion now more difficult to attain
- Artillery whistle removed
- Stealth audio changed
- Ion Research Center animation improved
- Temple of Nod animation improved
- Signature array animation improved
- Reduced Ion storm strength
- GDI Central Command now has animation.
- Cinematic missions have new icon
- Obelisk of light has reduced rate of fire and damage
- Land Mine reduced to 275$
- Rocket Tower now Missile Tower
- Missile Tower has smoother animation
- Hover MRLS is now 675$, modified to match price
- Some explosions now have lighting effect attached
- Security tower animation changed
- Phoenix Bomb explosion changed
- Map: Tainted Scar updated with lamps
- Armadillo temporarily disabled pending balance changes
- Westwood billboard now green on temperate maps
- Bodies now remain longer on battlefield
- Soldier Electrify animation full brightness
- Pulse cannon weapon fire modified
There are much more changes coming in the next update which is well into development so get excited as the battle for the sea's is just around the corner!

Hi, I have a bug to report with 2.5
I was testing things out in skirmish and it appears that disabling ultimate weapons does not prevent the skirmish AI from using a GDI Ion Cannon, though it does seem to prevent a Nod one from using the Nuclear Bomb.

EDIT: As a matter of fact, the setting completely ignores the Ion Cannon, regardless of AI or Player
Yes I changed the name of the structure and forgot to update the skirmish option, thank you. I'll opload a fixed version in a few days with any other fixes that are needed.
If you want a temporary fix open:
TSTW 2_5\INI\Game Options\Super Weapons.ini and change [DROPSHIPBAY] to [IONSERCH]

He's temporarily disabled, he will return though.

for some reason, i cant accses any of the naval tech. i think this is because i use the windows instead of XNA 4.0, or that my computer wont let me install the compatibility patches
shouldn't we wait for version 2.6 for that?
Naval will be released in version 2.6, the next update.

Hey I have a question about Campaign - I've never played this mod before so please don't mind me if it seems a stupid question.
The update mentions new campaign chapter 1 & 2, does that mean new campaign in addition or is the campaign not complete yet, with chapters 1 & 2 being the only chapters that have been released yet?
Sorry for the delayed response, I had created a 12 part campaign and released it in version 2.1. I have since begun remaking the campaign from the beginning and releasing a chapter each update.
