The Northville Tunnels Project is an attempt to recreate the grounds in 3D using Half Life 2. There are plans to possibly make a full blown mod for HL2 that will hopefully simulate what it would be like to be there. But for right now I'm just working on getting the complex made. All suggestions, ideas and help are welcome.

I wish this project would get revived--I was a explorer of the tunnels in my youth, and the shot of the boiler room in the preview looks great.
No one else has ever modded any fps with this map, and it would be a great way to relive the experience (complete with satanists(?) in the tunnels to fight lol), seeing that an upscale sub now occupys the old site.
Someone carry on the torch please!

What do you do in the mod?
I grew up in Ann Arbor, and during highschool we would hear stories of that place all the time. Kids would go there at night and explore the tunnels and come back with scary stories.
One story depicted a long tunnel at the end there was a 50 foot drop off. Some would say they saw homeless people in there. Others would claim to see ghosts. Driving by it during the day is spooky enough, very few of us would dare venture on the grounds at night.

yes i know the hospital is still up, but i think that since it looks like ****, that id should also be built back up ;)

That's the Northville Psychiatric Hospital. That place is still standing. The place I'm rebuilding is the Wayne County Training School aka Wayne County Child Devlopment Center and it was about 2 miles away from that place.
My main reason for making this mod is so all those that went there from the day it closed to the day it was demolished can revisit the place all over again. Also for those that missed out can now see what it was like to hang out there.
Another idea is if I can get enough pictures of the place when it was still open I'll make an alternate version that'll take place from sometime between 1926 to 1974. Depends on what refrence material I can find. By the way, this is Bill Ding from northville-tunnels.com and I use to explore that place from 1993 to 1997.

Yes, it really sat abandoned for that long.
We might also incorparte some co-op missions. Especially scary ones.
The History of the Northville Tunnels is vast. This has nothing to do with a school. The grounds im refering to is that of the old buildings that habitat it still today. Please visit the www.northville-tunnels.com website for the most in-depth story/look of the grounds.
