** COMPLETELY STANDALONE - DOES NOT REQUIRE ANY PREVIOUS VERSION ** --- Many people think Mass Effect 3's Multiplayer should have been more similar to Battlefield or Battlefront with large-scale epic battles and the like; Mass Effect: Unification does just that.
** COMPLETELY STANDALONE - PREVIOUS VERSION NOT REQUIRED **
Release Notes:
- Wondering why there isn't a separate version for Retail/Steam? The reason why is because the installer now detects your game's installation directory based on the game's registry entry.
- In the Config Tool, the Help menu is still somewhat unfinished and is using...interesting placeholder images (which the app's developer placed there himself).

THE STORY:
In summer of 2010, I played the demo for Mass Effect 2 after seeing it on Steam – I immediately then ran out and obtained a copy of Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2 for the PC (because console shooters are dumb). After completing the first game, I thought to myself, "Huh, certainly there must be a Mass Effect mod for Star Wars Battlefront II!" After failing to find such a mod, I completed my first map that I had been working on since February of that same year; I started working on the Sol Map Pack, released the pilot map, and in around July of 2011, I started the gargantuan project we all love and know as “Mass Effect: Unification.”
THIS MOD CURRENTLY FEATURES:
- a massive amount of specially hand-crafted assets specifically tailored for this mod. This would not have been possible without the help of The Nasal Abyss, Scott_W.Pilgrim (agentsmith38), THEWULFMAN, AQT, Gametoast, and Frayed Wires Studios.
- support for all stock land maps minus Endor.
- three custom Mass Effect maps: Eden Prime, the Prothean Skyway, and Virmire.
- a dedicated server! (Name: “Unification (R3) USA West”)
- WAY too much content to list here.
WHAT MORE TO EXPECT:
- Various patches and hotfixes that correct bugs and add small features.
- DLC expansion packs that will include new maps, modes, campaigns, sides, and more.
MOD NOTES:
- Single-player matches on all maps have random side variations and random Shepard hero classes whereas multi-player matches have a preset variation and Shepard class (per-map specific).
- All maps minus the Prothean Skyway - which has Team Deathmatch and 2-flag CTF - support the Conquest mode and most maps support either 1-flag or 2-flag CTF, which, by the way, is INCREDIBLY fun and difficult (especially Hoth).
- A new save profile called “MEU-Newcomer” is installed along with the mod; this profile is configured to enhance your playing experience with recommended game, audio, and control settings. While using the MEU-Newcomer profile isn’t required, it’s most certainly recommended.
- This mod adds 38 missions to the game's runtime heap.

Mustafar and the ConfigTool keeps crashing. They both worked in version R3. All the other maps do work in version R4.
Pastebin.com Bfront2.log for Mustafar
Pastebin.com Bfront2.log for TantiveIV which also crashes
Downloaded it and the ConfigTool always crashes. It always says it "has an error and can't proceed" before it even opens. Any suggestions on how to fix this? The computer it's installed on doesn't have internet access.
I just decided to copy and paste the location of the config.xml on the configtool (if you try clicking the 3 dot button, it crashes for some reason) it found it, but now it won't even start, I checked the Task manager, it shows up, but it closes few seconds later.
So I gave up and decided to run the game, the menu was unification, so I though everything worked, until I tried to start a game, it crashes to desktop with no error or warning.
My game plays fine, i just can't use the config.
I can't even start a game, menu works fine, but when I try to play an instant action game, it Crashes to desktop with no warning, sometimes the loading screen appears but after like 5 bars (or circle things) it crashes to desktop.
Have you tried the open beta? Moddb.com
So I uninstalled this mod but the menu is still there. Any help?
What steps did you take to uninstall the mod?
From the FAQ:
Q: I tried uninstalling the mod by deleting the ME5 folder in my addon directory, but the music is still there and stuff! D:
A: Do not remove the ME5 folder from the addon folder manually! To uninstall the mod, simply run the uninstaller located in the Mass Effect - Unification Start Menu folder; that'll remove everything. Alternatively, if you just wish to play other mods without running over the mission count, open up the Configuration Utility and disable the mod through there by setting Toggle Mass Effect: Unification to Disabled.
I have the same issue with the music still being there after doing a proper uninstall and deleting the ME5 folder :\
I'm having Steam verify the integrity of the local files by right clicking the title in my library > properties > verify local files. I hope this fixes the music issue.
I would like to have played this mod but even though it looked installed with the title menu and music, I couldn't find the ME characters in the game and I would have to have a separate installation for SW:Battlefront2 to use my other SWBF2 mods, because this one takes over and then I have too many missions, heck I still have too many missions after I uninstalled the game and deleted the ME5 folder. jimminy cricket!!
well, restoring the files thru Steam seems to have fixed my music issue but it looks like I have to reinstall all my mods: BFX, Dark Times 1+2, & Conversion Pack.
You realize this is an old version of the mod, correct?
