Yeah, we like Alan Lee's design, but we went back to Tolkien's description and his own illustration of Orthanc. The design and model are both by the talented Octoburn. :)
Ah I see. I have seen this and many other of Tolkien's illustration sketches before. The details can be a bit lacking sometimes though (as Tolkien himself admitted when illustrating the Hobbit). So, if you are looking for really accurate illustrations that have much more details, check Ted Nasmith out: Tednasmith.com . He is one of my favorite artists as far as Tolkien illustrations go. Him and Alan Lee really bring Middle Earth to life (though Alan Lee can be a bit off sometimes, as with his Rivendell illustrations; his best work is in the Children of Hurin).
Ah I see you went with more of a Ted Nasmith style Isengard as opposed to the Alan Lee style used in the movies. Looks pretty good ;) .

Don't worry, we're well aware of quite possibly all the Tolkien illustrators worth a damn. ;)
I thought you would have. You guys are doing a great job! I am looking forward to the release :)
It might be a little bigger?
Wow, that sure looks good, but I wonder if you'll put the caves in it?
Yes.
IS THAT THE THING WITH THE EYE
