My game crashes right after the title screen appears. It's loading when it suddenly goes black and the game just shuts down. I don't get any message from windows that anything went wrong. My file path is: Program Files (x86)/SEGA/Medieval II Total War/mods/Italian_wars

So inside your italian_wars folder you have folders like data, maps, GHZ etc?

May 23 2016 Anchor

Yes, everything seems to be there. I tried to uninstall and install again but that didn't change anything.

May 23 2016 Anchor

Did you delete all previous versions?

May 23 2016 Anchor

Yes, all previous versions were deleted when I started the installation. Maybe I should download all the documents over again and start from scratch?

May 23 2016 Anchor

No, no. I meant, have you deleted them by hand?
The whole italian_wars folder?

May 23 2016 Anchor

Yes, I deleted the whole italian_wars folder by hand.

May 23 2016 Anchor

All right. Please send me the log file.

Start the game, it will crash and then go to ...SEGA\Medieval II Total War\logs. There is a txt file in it, which I need to see what the exact problem is.

BTW do have the vanilla starting screen or the one from TIW?

May 23 2016 Anchor

Okay, I started the game, it crashed, went looking in the logs directory but the directory is empty, there's no .txt file. I always get the TIW starting screen.

Ps: I'm starting to feel really guilty about bothering you this much...

May 23 2016 Anchor

Hmm... I could be the virtual store problem...

Please, follow these steps here: Twcenter.net

Not at all :D

May 23 2016 Anchor

My system is buisy changing everything as we speak. Is there anything else that I have to do when everything's done?

In any case: thank you very much, I love the Italian Renaissance and i really hope I can play the latest update of the game :)

May 23 2016 Anchor

I guess you haven't had any problems with any of the previous versions?

May 23 2016 Anchor

No, no problems with the previous versions. I can perfectly play the 4.1 patch.

May 23 2016 Anchor

Very well. :)

So was it the virtual store?

May 23 2016 Anchor

I tried after following the steps on TWC but it still doesn't work. Or do I have to reinstall the game after doing the virtual store check up?

My apologies, i checked the logs directory again, and this time, there was a .txt file. How can I send you the file?

May 23 2016 Anchor

Nope, normally one needn't reinstall the game..

Do you receive an unexpected error message or no message at all?

May 23 2016 Anchor

No message at all, the screen just goes black and the game shuts off. But if you want, I found the .txt in the logs directory you were talking about earlier. Maybe you can identify the problem that way. Is there a way to send in to you?

May 23 2016 Anchor

Oh great at last! I'd guess, you could load it up on this site here: Speedyshare.com

Just compress it to a rar file or zip and send me the download link.
Many thanks!

Oké, I think it worked: here is the link: Speedy.sh

Thanks again for your help. I hope you can find a solution.

May 23 2016 Anchor

All right I had a look at the log and sadly I couldn't find the problem, which causes your crash.
As I far as I can see it stops loading somewhere inside the building ui files, that probably means the descr_win_condition file is missing..

How many files do you have, after you have extracted the download 7zip file?

Did you use winrar or 7zip for the extraction?

May 23 2016 Anchor

I use 7zip. After I have extracted the download 7zip file, I have 5 files: the main .exe file, the .D01, .D02 and .D03 files which I can't open and the .exe file for the translation.

May 23 2016 Anchor

That seems quite all right..
Okay, delete the italian_wars folder and run the main exe file and send me your exact install path once again, please.

Then start the game, which should normally launch in German language now.

May 23 2016 Anchor

Oké, will do!

May 23 2016 Anchor

We'll get this ;)

May 23 2016 Anchor

I reinstalled the game, this is the exact install path: C:/Program Files (x86)/SEGA/Medieval II Total War/mods/Italian_Wars. I'm going to test it now, hoping it works...

Oké, I tried it but it still crashes after the title screen appears...

Thank you for the encouragement. I've got the feeling I'm presenting you quite the challenge ;)
