Note: It is essential, that you delete the map.rwm file! This is the official patch 4.1 for the Italian Wars mod. It includes several changes, for a complete list, check below. The patch includes the English text files, so you can just install it and start to play, right away!

Im also having trouble with figuring out the field costs and recruitment costs. It says it costs 5000 to levy troops, but I don't see how that was implemented. Also, how do the field costs work?
Well, the player receive a warning in time, so there is plenty of time.
Click on the diplomatic tab, so an event pops up, which informs you about all field costs of your troop.
What do you mean with levy troops?

Well, you have to pay 5000 Florins due the accruing costs to levy an army for your campaign in Italy.
Is this a one time fee deducted from your treasury at the beginning?
It is deducted from your treasury, if you choose yes.
I still don't understand the field costs, is it per unit, per army, or per general? is it per turn also?
sorry for asking so many questions, i am just really excited about this mod and RP'ing an italian city state, lol.
It is per general and captain and it is paid by turn.
Just an example:
You have an army led by an general and currently besieging a town. You will have to pay 1000 Florins. If your army is in enemy or not your controlled land, you'll have to pay 500(?) Florins. The amount is paid for every army in the field.

Yeah. I got the English 4.0, copied the Italian_Wars folder to my mods folder, then installed the patch.
Do you use the steam version?
If yes, you need to change the directory, when the installer asks you, where to install the patch!

Well, try this. Delete all versions of TIW.
Then install version 4.0, in your \mods directory.
Then extract the english translation files for version 4.0.
Then install patch 4.1
Also, post the path where you have installed all, so I can be sure everything is done correctly.
It's C:/Program Files(x86)/SEGA/Medieval 2 Total War/Mods.
Alright. So you should have a folder named "italian_wars" in your mods directory. "italian_wars" should include following files and folder:

It doesnt give me the packs in the install. Ive tried reinstalling it but it just doesnt show up

In every mod there is a folder called packs. When i installed this one it didnt give me that folder
well, mostly that folder will be created when you start the mod, but how is that of your concern?
Whenever i try and launch the game it just starts it up as if i was trying to play normal Medieval 2. Do you know how to fix this?
I guess you installed the mod in the wrong directory..
