A Realist Fantasy Project for Crysis, featuring an engaging story, immersive environments and a deep, highly realistic combat system all presented with a cinematic sensibility. The IW Team is recruiting. We are seeking animators, coders, modellers and texture artists.
This is the sword of the Morchanin Scout Udeval, the main character of the project. It has several unique properties which will make it the weapon of choice for many players, I don't doubt, including an enclosed grip (allowing for a very flowing range of blocks and cuts) and a nearly 7-inch spike in place of a pommel - ideal for punching through mail or delivering short, lethal jabs.

It's even a moderately effective weapon :) - I made a pair of mock-ups to try out some techniques (I am studying Ju-jitsu and have been for nearly 10 years) and it's a very different feeling from fighting with a more traditional sword.
Then we'll get some realistic animations too I hope.
