11 unique factions full of new heroes, spells, and abilities. Hundreds of new maps. A brand-new campaign. A thoroughly reworked and expanded War of the Ring mode - and much more!
i really like the variety of gondorian troops in this mod. Also, they remind me of game of thrones northern troops, like a mix of GoT with Lotr somehow but that's just me. I like that blue/purple "scarf" /dunno the term in english) on the front. Nice detail
not that I don't love the design, but in terms of logic, wouldn't it make more sense to add a chest armor in their upgrade, I mean when you go to battle is the most vital part of the body to protect not the shoulders, I know it's your mod and you do whatever you want but I'm just sayin :p
It's not lord of the rings I grant you, but highlanders often charged into battle wearing as little as possible, relying on ambush tactics and the ability to strike fast. Heavy armour would not suit such fighting styles. I can imagine these guys doing something similar.
Agreed on that point. The light armour certainly befits how we imagine the clansmen would have fought. And a lighter aketon aptly communicates this more skirmish oriented attitude to battle. I especially love the tartan sash as that adds an aura of ceremony to the armour. It is a terrific design!
However, for me the pauldrons and grieves are the armour piece that seem a little out of place. An aketon for body protection is inkeeping with the lesser protection and allows a lot of free movement. A soldier using that would not logically then wear pauldrons that restrict arm movement needlessly, and those grieves would slow them down a little too.
Considering much of this unit's armoury is leather and tunic, the heavy armour upgrade ought to be similarly understated. That said, the iron gauntlets look really great, as they seamlessly meld into the leather gloves.
I agree with you. But the Fiefdom units all get an upgrade called Armaments of the White City, which gives them armor and unifies their look a little, so gameplay trumps logic this time. Though I might consider adding some mail to the heavy look to round it off.
That's fair. The pauldrons certainly have that classic White City look, so that makes sense to me. I felt it was worth bring up though because the Aketon look is absolutely superb! :)
Well, the Fiefdom actually deserved this change. My personal view is that I will play with them more often than the Anorien "standard troops" đđ
P.S: I smell great rework on the Swan knights and men at arms, or I am wrong ? đ

Scotsmen in LotR? How could there not be!

Actually, this comment string made me reconsider the heavy armor look a little. I've updated the image.

Swan knights are perfect no rework needed i guess.
All of the Gondor stuff will be reworked artwise
Very cool looking!
Amazing, you are very talented.
Now all we need is Angbor to lead them
This looks great!
