The Great War is a modification for Company of Heroes meant to bring the war two decades earlier. This mod focuses on the later years of the First World War. Currently the two teams will be the British Expeditionary Force against the German Empire, however with time the team will try and bring some more nations in, such as France and Austria-Hungary. This mod will focus or realism but keep the game balanced enough to make it enjoyable. Things to look for in the mod are the famous artillery strikes and the infamous gas attacks. Trenches will provide vital cover for infantry while tanks will roll over the battlefield and instil fear into the enemy troops.
In the following pictures you can see the German A7V,the British Mark IV in both male and female variants, and german captured MKIV tanks.
Outstanding, just a thing, will the tanks be very slow ?
Yes. We're sticking to their real historical speed. Which means the Mk IV will be a slow lumbering vehicle lagging behind infantry, while the Medium Mk A will be faster.
It's quite hilarious to see that the first time ingame, and somewhat frustrating. But at least it limits the impact of tanks on what should be foremost infantry and artillery battles.
It's better slow,as in the nilla CoH the tanks go so fast the infantry can't keep up with the Sherman. But World War 1 was a more infantry and artillery war anyways...
outstanding!
will there be a tank limit like ,,you can only have 3 tanks in a whole game? or something cause ww1 was an infantry war so..
There won't be caps on the amount of tanks you can have (apart from some truly limited amounts, like the A7V). However due to CoH's game mechanics (Resource cost, population cap, upkeep, production time) it's unlikely you'll be able to field more than an handful unless you choose a specific commander tree.
i will make sweet love to this tank XD
Do note that's it's of the "male" variant ;)
LOL.
this mod no air support?
There is air support in the mod, yes. We’re not showing pictures though as the plane models are borrowed (with permission and encouragement) from the BF1918 mod.
