Positives:

- Some creativity shown, sadly not all of it is yours
- The graveyard map was decent
- Scripting is also decent (also sad you copied alot of it)

Negatives:

- You copied alot of parts from other stories
- I spawned in the wrong room (Monastery)
- Very bland level design
- Lack details, music and originality
- Not scary at all
- Alot of glitches (walls not correctly connected)

Conclusion:

You copy the Guest room from the official Amnesia story and only changed the furniture. The crowbar quest, key behind the painting, grunt spawn if you touch the invisible trigger, everything is there!

You even took ideas from other stories, mine included. If you are going to take ideas or even copy from other people, at least make sure you change it enough to make it look like you actually did something to it.

I admit, I take ideas from other people as well. I sometimes even use scripts from others, but I always make it into my own work. I never completely rip off and then claim it's mine. I ask for permission and give credits if something looks exactly like other stories which it rarely does. Sorry, but this is a HUGE minus right there. It lacks originality, you show us that you are not capable of doing much on your own, it lack details and music and the level design (the parts you did on your own) is very bland and boring.

4/10 - Okay

For being the start of a trilogy, this is so painful to look at. Even the creator themselves said that this was a disgrace of a mod, and i think hes very right.

Plot - The plot was rather okay. In fact, it was one of the few things that was actually decent in the mod. (7/10)

Mapping - Utter disaster. Nearly all the maps are copied from either other custom stories (Mines were a rip from Abduction) or the original game (like, literally 90% of the maps...). Graveyard was the only good looking place, while the rest was extremely empty, bland and undecorated. (2/10)

Storytelling - There were a couple notes here and there that delved into the story. No typos as far as im aware, and no dialogue. (7/10)

Fear Factor - Considering the fact that this was a rip of other peoples work, the monsters were very predictable. There were, of course, item monsters, which are the most predictable monster spawns. (3/10)

Atmosphere - Unfortunately, due to the fact this is a RIP of TDD, it was really hard to get into the atmosphere and enjoy the cs. There was 0 usage of sound areas, no random sounds, and was only music in some areas. (3/10)

Puzzles - Almost all are a rip of amnesia. Do i need to say more? (2/10)

Bugs - There were a couple clipping walls, which is a gigantic no-no in custom stories. (7/10)

Lighting and Decals - Nearly nonexistent. Lighting was very strange in some places. No decals afaik. (3/10)

Score: 34/80. Review Score: 5/10.

Obviously not as good as your latest chapters but it was a nice attempt for your first mod.

Pos
- Custom sounds.
-I liked the graveyard map

Cons
- Glitchy out of place walls and textures
- Empty rooms
- Unrealistic lighting

Excellent start of trillogy.

Can't make this episode anymore than a 5 I'm afraid. Extremely repetetive scares, and lack all variation. Much is copied straight out of the main game especially the level design, which was horrible, sorry for that. The puzzles were okay and the usage of music wasn't bad aswel. But overall, tedious to play.

Looking forward to playing episode 2 and 3 for they are rated a lot better.

It wasn't anything special with the exception of some puzzles which were all copied directly from the main game. Where are details?

Lightning is awful and there are a lot of texture glitches, story is kind of okay, encounters as well, and one of the most annoying things in this mod was the "choir" section of the game with a lot of brutes, hoping for better in episode 2 :)

you addressed a wrong room in your mod !!!!!!!!!!!!!
i completely glitched in the cistern chamber and went into another mod map ............. !!!
what the F**k is this S**t ??? !!!

Swedish Game's The Fugitive Episode I is a large, yet unoriginal mod. Released in the Summer of 2013, 35 months after the original Amnesia platform was released, this game has a lot of influence from the original hall of horrors. Much of Episode I has the same skeleton as the original game. This time around, the rooms are bigger, the scares are more predictable and yet it is still very playable. Some areas like the red-colored hall based off the original choir main hall may be unoriginal in design but prove to be more nervous than its older counterpart. In the few areas that are totally created by SG aren't bad. But in the very beginning, for example, looking toward the castle from outside in the rainy graveyard does not match up to what the interior wall. The game still has some entertaining value, not being too boring, but a mod this long should be something unpredictable. I give this a 70%

It's full of recycled scenes (as in recycled environments complete with the same puzzles they had before) from the original game and the monster encounters are pretty lackluster. Not worth the time.
