Take on the role of an operative in the Hex Gen network, a decentralized movement of hacktivists resisting the economic pillaging conducted by the unholy alliances of Big Tech, Big Military, and Big Finance. Think "The Windup Girl" meets "Neuromancer". Features: -Facial, vocal biometric capture devices -"Nohface" electronic face projector for thwarting surveillance/drones which cover almost every inch of city -Wireless internet -Darknets - all web activity is fully surveilled, you need stealth not only in meatspace but in cyberspace -More types of hacking - cryptography, DDoS, spoofing -Hunger: experience real economic destitution as you slowly die of starvation and are forced to beg, steal, or even kill for a piece of bread. -DIY: Upgrade your hemp trenchcoat with solar trim, syphon electricity from the private power grid, take apart old phones and radios to hack together an EMP gun, set up a hydroponic garden in your squatted flat so you don't have to kill for every meal.
Intro cinematic at the start of the game. WARNING: Not for the faint of heart or the willfully ignorant of mind. Contains scenes of extreme reality.

Impressive. Voice work is a bit overstressed at the end of the sentecnces but its still very awesome.
Oh yes, the voice acting is 100% authentic, it feels so... So... Umm... Terrible? Yea... But don't take it the wrong way, it's perfect since it reminds me of golden stuff like "a bomb!" and "what a shame". There's also the fact that the voice is unique as hell, I can't at all call it a typical voice, so kudos for that I guess, it would be strange to play a game in the deus ex engine with normal-sounding voices.
Lol, yeah I suppose I was going for that classic Deus Ex tone. Thanks!
Loved your voicework for DXN! The people demand MOOOOORRREEE :]
Thanks! And more they shall receive, although they will need Seraphic/8X clearance to hear it. :)
Am I the only one who thought of "Gordon Freeman in the flesh, or rather, in the hazard suit. I took the liberty of relieving you of your weapons..."
But I somehow really like it :)
Great work!
Haha, yeah I can see that. I think perhaps I'll have to stick in a G-Man Easter Egg if you complete the game fully non-lethal :)
Thanks!
Very well done!
Thanks man!
Fantastic! I also love the camera work, looks a lot smoother than what I could come up with. Looking forward to this!
Looks great, can't wait to play it! Very Deus Ex-ish. Awesome music btw.
From the description: "WARNING: Not for the faint of heart or the willfully ignorant of mind. Contains scenes of extreme reality".
LOL!
This looks fantastic. Set to blow DX fans away with the setting, writing etc. I loved the 3D printer, made me lol also.
Just one question: Since there is a global famine can you cannibalize your enemies once you have knocked em out or killed em? :p
Oh and another: Is this a one man project? If so, that is extremely impressive. Jack of all trades.
Have not yet implemented cannibalizing enemies although I suppose that would make sense given the world :)
Oh and yes, I'm doing pretty much all the jobs here, although I do have some occasional help with a texture or a model and some voice acting.
Nooo please don't get caught up in trying to implement all these crazy suggestions... I want the game to come out this year lol. Don't wanna be a cannibal anyways...
It wasn't a crazy suggestion but a crazy question. I could care less if you could cannibalize or not.... But as Spook said, it does make sense to have some cannibalism going on, such as an encounter with some hungry NPCs who try to eat you.
Lol.
I'm very impressed with you dialogue and Sdk skills Spook!
Thanks man!
.
Wow!
Awesome intro! Why does it all seem so...familiar? ;-D
Seriously though, the intro does a TERRIFIC job of succinctly summing up the state of the world. In fact, it's far more eloquent than what's found in the default Deus Ex titles!
We're in for a TREAT when this baby's finally released, that's for sure!
Keep up the great work, and thanks again for sharing!
Thanks a ton for the high praise! Deus Ex' writing is astronomically hard to do compete with, and I wanted to make something that takes the spirit or the "lens" of the original and updates it, homes it in over today's problems. If anyone's mental gears start turning, if anyone feels deeply disturbed / upset by the content, and inspired to learn more about the issues covered in Terminus Machina, then I'll be happy.
This feels extremely 90ies with the over the top but dark dystopian tone, which actually couples pretty well with the game's visuals. Nice!
