Synergy is a Half-Life 2 co-opertive multiplayer modification. We have evolved from multiple mods (DC Co-op 2, Dev Co-op and Tim-Coop) to offer you the greatest co-op experience. This modification strives to give Half-Life players a true Half-Life 2 cooperative experience. The mod features our own levels and the ability to play the Half-Life 2, Episode One and Episode Two campaigns co-operatively. In addition, you can add more content by installing third-party mods, such as ROCK 24 and MINERVA: Metastasis, then playing them in Synergy!

Synergy was once the best Coop mod out there. Before it went to steamworks.

Before it went to steamworks it had awesome maps, badass new guns, custom player models, lots of other things, but then they went to steamworks and it unfortunately got bad. They ripped everything off it and left the custom player models just to donators.

The only thing I still like in this game is the "Trials" pack of maps. Only good thing left in it.

Not badly designed, but the mod has crashed on me a few times, and getting a good server can be difficult at times.

Also -- Half-Life 2 levels are designed to be challenging for 1 player. Playing with more than 4 breaks almost all the difficulty. I suggest getting additional maps to play on, or you'll be completing the Half-Life 2 campaign faster than you can say "Alien Swarm".

Very good but it could take some things from follow freeman.

Great laughs were had. I've met some strange people. Incompetent folks who accidentally team-kill the most competent player on the server who was taking down a chopper which fell down upon unsuspecting players. I saw trolls yapping on the mic entertaining us with great commentaries and trash-talk. I don't know how it is now but for me, that part is over. Maybe I'll come back to it, I don't know.

This mod gives emphasis how wacky we are in the online world and it does so in an entertaining way. The players will do their job, you do yours and this mod will become the best comedy you have ever seen.

Its a great mod when you actually get it working, it took me a while to get this mod working but when i did it was well worth it.

And it's better than Sven Co-op, if you don't like Sven Co-op because of outdated graphics then try Synergy but there is Sven Co-op 2 but it was canceled in 2008, so there is an alternative to Sven Co-op on the engine Source under the name Synergy and there is another cooperative version of Half-Life 2 but only in Garry's Mod And there is even a cooperative mode in Black Mesa: Source this time unofficial only made by other people but there are no manual first-aid kits to heal and resurrect teammates with the help of first-aid kits and not even weapons from Opposing Force, but in the future, developers or fans will make a remake of Sven Co-op but only on the basis of Operation: Black Mesa after it comes out with weapons and monsters from Opposing Force and even hand-held first-aid kits to heal allies

This mod is terrible and vastly inferior to Obsidian Conflict in every way imaginable. Its an utterly dogshit mod. Don't let any synergy fans gaslight you into thinking it was ever good, it wasn't. The maps sucked donkey **** even back in 2008. I mean honestly, look at these ****** *** maps and tell me they belong in a major mod project? They literally look like children made them. They had no quality control for Synergy what-so-ever, they would add anything to it. No matter how ******. **** Synergy, it sucks ****. Go play Obsidian Conflict instead.

Finally
Half-Life 2 multiplayer

Shoddy, bugged, outdated, abandoned, and very much lacking in the amount of Half-Life 2 mods that it supports. Not to mention that the added difficulty to the existing Half-Life 2 campaigns is absurd; even on easy mode it turns every enemy into a bullet-sponge. It's just not a fun way to play Half-Life 2 this way, unless maybe you're just looking to derp around with twenty or so buddies and nothing else.

If you want to make it just *slightly* playable, I highly recommend limiting the FPS using the game's Steam launch options. That will at least ensure that Synergy doesn't crash all the time. It doesn't "fix" the mod itself though; it's still really not worth the time at the end of the day.
