Hello everyone, good news!
We've been working really hard since Friday night, trying to resolve all the issues everyone has posted on our forums and in emails.
Lots of map problems have been fixed, some changes to the game code and of course, new maps have been added.
To get this new update, simply launch Synergy from Steam or CLICK HERE.

But steam doesn't show anything when i right click and choose "update news" to see what's changed.

I can't even start the mod, I wanted to play last night but when I downloaded it wouldn't start. Gonna try and see if it works now, I kept crashing just as it went "Sending Client Info".
Try verifing cache integrity from the game.
ive noticed one thing: in the non-steam synergy, there are new guns, like the mp5k, lm8, combine machine gun, and the flare gun, and some new options well, like more player models (tfc pyro for example) and a personal color, that would also affect the color of the flare fired by the flare gun, and the glowing light of the grenade. like a lightblue color = light blue flare and grenade light. will all of this eventually be added into the steam version? i really do hope so, since it was kinda a dissapointment to see those things missing, since they where pretty awesome
I agree and on the steam version there is no medkit (the one you use to heal your friends) which makes things a lot harder :/ As well as non-spawning ammo and health in some maps.
Yeah, and what happened to Third-Person mode? I know it wasn't quite the best, but I enjoyed using it all the time. :(
In more recent versions, you have a third-person camera now, totally polished up - no animation problems and everything is done client-side too.
That means a lot of coding... maybe they will add all that great stuff later
The reason they changed the game was to make it feel more polished as well as to make it feel more like an official experience. I felt like all that custom crap made it feel unpolished and third party moddish. I hope they don't add it all back in except in custom maps with mappers permission. (Besides models)
the steam version sucks, no training, and the older GUI looked better. but the biggest problem is that mostly retards play it. most of them doen't know it's a coop game and playing dm. what the hell...
I really disagree. I like the new interface much better because it feels more like HL2 coop than a mod with some crappy custom made UI that doesn't fit in with the VGUI themes that other HL2 mods and games use.
I think this game is a lot more fun when your playing with your friends. I just wish they would actually fix the cinematic issues. Thats the whole point of HL2 coop. :( Experiencing the story with your friends.
