Creative assistance news - Swelter mod for Half-Life 2: Episode Two

Hello again!

The development of the mod required the cooperation of many people. Almost all of the team members took the initiative and offered their help in good faith. I am especially grateful to these people for their contributions to the development of the Swelter, but for most of them this project is not the only one, so it is fair to talk more about their activities.

Aptekarr (Ruslan Pozdnyakov)
In addition to a lot of help in prototyping the Swelter levels and adjusting the gameplay, aptekarr has provided the project with various interesting models.
For example, the model of a Combine helicopter pilot:

At the moment, Ruslan is actively developing his personal creative project - the Antenna modification. I took a look at his work, and I'm convinced that this mod will be excellent when it gets to the finale. So I recommend you check it out!

HEVcrab (Vlad Melnichuk)
Vlad has done extensive work with the code, bringing in a lot of fixes and adding a bunch of gameplay mechanics. In this area, the Swelter is stripped of all the shortcomings that were in Snowdrop Escape. The video demonstrates the most interesting changes:

Swelter is not the only mod that got prettier thanks to Vlad. For example, regular maintenance keeps Contingency multiplayer modification from becoming obsolete. Vlad also took part in the projects Snowdrop Escape, Lambda Wars, The Forgotten Ones, Arctic Adventure: Episodes and Fast Detect.

Texas Steve (Márk Kovács)
An expert in his field, the owner of a rare skill - beautiful animation creation! When he joined the development team, he did a great job creating unique dynamic animations for the ~15 weapon models captured in this video:

Steve is the co-leader of the most promising (in my opinion) mod revealing Adrian Shepard's story, Urban Chaos. Here is the link:

Famychoff (Simon Stakhovsky)
Simon gave to Swelter a small, but nice details. The bullsquid model is upgraded:

Almost twenty people gave their voice to our characters! Voice acting required a lot of time investment: one year out of five was devoted to this particular difficult work. You can learn more about the work of our voice actors in this video:

Разработка мода потребовала кооперации многих людей. Чуть ли не все участники команды проявили инициативу и на добрых началах предложили свою помощь. Я особенно благодарен этим людям за вклад в разработку Зноя, однако для большинства из них этот проект не единственный, поэтому будет справедливо рассказать подробнее.

Влад проделал масштабную работу с кодом, привнеся множество исправлений и добавив тонну игровых механик. В этой области Зной лишён всех недостатков, которые были в Snowdrop Escape. На видео продемонстрированы самые интересные изменения:

Зной - не единственный мод, который похорошел благодаря Владу. Например, регулярное техобслуживание не даёт устареть мультиплеерной модификации Contingency. Также Влад принимал участие в проектах Snowdrop Escape, Lambda Wars, The Forgotten Ones, Arctic Adventure: Episodes и Fast Detect.
