i upscaled all of the model's textures for they hunger in sven coop. also added a couple sounds and sprites that look nicer. and improved upscaled then downscaled all of the hunger world textures to remove noise, improve quality and and detail. *updated 3/21/22 - added more textures that i forgot *updated 3/15/22 redid all the textures, added gunfire sounds, smoothed the arm on v_ weapons *updated 3/16. redid all textures in the entire mod. removing all of the rainbow colored grainyness

There's a point at which the closer you approach to realism, the more unsettling a simulated person gets, at the low end of realism you have stickfigures, and that works up to The Simpsons, and later on you have the likes of J.C. Denton. They sequentially gain 'believability' until you get to a certain threshold, where believability takes a nose-dive, on the other end of it you have the genuine article which is the height of believability and simulation. That dip just before is known as the uncanny valley, and half-life with its family of spinoffs and expansions uses it to great effect.

And he's paraphrasing something i would've said in this files description... "Welcome to uncanny valley". And then he sarcastically says that increasing texture details for they hunger doesn't work because it'll put the game in the uncanny valley and it will no longer be believable and become absurd.. and that it was a dumb idea for me to have done it.. in so few words

Fun fact: aLtErNaTiNg CaPs are also used to emphasize that something is an overused trope/something obvious. Calling HL1-styled models with HD textures "uncanny valley" is, indeed, an obvious trope.

sorry i dont really understand. also i dont know how to do model work. this pack is just upscaled and reworked textures pretty much. also those requests kind of fall outside of the scope of this particular addon. this is a quality pack for increased texture quality and resolution mainly.
