Just a BIG map (without loading things). Theres not much to it. No story how you got there but you must get to the top of the tower. Probably works with...

Hello ModDB community in the afternoon it occurred to me to combine two half life mods HazardOUS-Course and brutal half life and BOOM now we have Brutal...
HALF-LIFE: Operation Rift. Second part of HECU Corporal Timothy Collins. Sequel of Operation Rosenberg.
Okay, there was a lot to unpack here.
Here are some problems I had (I have just began modding as well so take everything I say with a grain of salt)
1. It seems you haven't added any lights to indoor maps, which results in a fullbright mode. Use light_enviroment (entity) for outdoor maps and change the lighting a bit.
2. Transitions weren't good, the best way to do a transition is to have a small piece of the next map be visible, and then transition. It looks way better.
3. Too many zombies on the outdoor maps, I know your probably going to say "skill issue" to that but I have completed half life before. Smaller zombies in small amounts is better than large zombies/small zombies in large amounts. I ended up using godmode to complete it
4. Not enough weapons. I tried playing the game with godmode off and I got obliterated as the larger entities require more powerful weapons, while in the beginning you only get a pistol, crowbar, and the smg.
5. View Distance. If your using Jack (if your using half life sdk hammer please switch immediately! It literally sucks.), go to Map > Map Properties > Max View Distance and set it to 8096, I noticed that on the outdoor maps some of the map wouldn't load and this is probably the issue.
Overall for a first time mod I enjoyed it. Just please fix these problems for your next mod.
Cheers :)
Thanks for the feedback! Regarding lighting: I knew how to do it, I was just too lazy to add it. I was also too lazy to make normal transitions. And in the end, I didn't care about anything at all and wanted to finish this mod as soon as possible. Now I'm already working hard on a new mod.
As monster_urby says, this is incredibly basic. A series of unconnected levels with way too many enemies and no proper lighting.
That said, it's clear you're just starting out, so...
I'm not going to leave a rating on this one as it is very clearly your first ever attempt at level design, let alone modding.
That being said, this whole pack is INCREDIBLY basic. It boils down to a series of killboxes with no lighting compiled and all barely strung together. Level transitions transport you to entire different locations, sometimes surrounded by enemies. However, there is no node graph so the enemies are rarely a threat.
Takes about 10 minutes to get through the entire thing and it likely only took a couple of hours to put together.
I hope you do stick with making mods, but I would consider seriously putting in some time to learn the basics of level design and take inspiration from existing mods out there. :)
