An expansion that adds several Stargate themed factions to Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion.
Renders of the Replicator Battlecruiser included in the r1.05 release of Stargate Races. This titan is used in the new Replicator Invasion event.
Original model sourced from the Stargate Open Asset Library. UVs and textures are custom.
Nice!!
Will the Replicatiors infect ships, causing a flood style cascade? And will there perhaps be a replicator horde mode?
The Replicator ships can capture other ships during combat (it has a chance on hit with the "railgun" class weapon) although it varies by ship type and the target has to be under half hull. The battle cruiser can capture everything up to and including other titans and starbases (very small chance on them). The smaller cruiser can capture other capital ships and frigates and the spider ship can capture other frigates.
When the battlecruiser or cruiser bomb/harvest a planet, they will start creating new replicator ships the next size down. So the battlecruiser will make cruisers and the cruisers will make spider.
The end result is if they're not getting killed off, you can end up with a lot of replicator ships (and controlled ships) flying about the map. If left unchecked, they will wipe out all the planets on a map.
At least that's how it currently works in the r1.05 release. Revisions may happen in later versions.
Thats pretty badass, and just convinced me to download this mod! At one point I was considering asking GoaFan if the Yuuzhan Vong would show up in Interregnum and behave similar to this. I thought it would be a fun play aspect. Thanks for all your hard work! Its incredible, my dudes.
What Reacon asked, when you said in your article that the replicator tries to destroy everything in its path to replicate more, will it be able to create ships in higher levels making it a massive fleet if left unattended in some background sectors?
See the reply above to Reacon11's question.
cheers dolynick :)
