Stargate - Empire at War: Pegasus Chronicles is a total conversion for the fantastic game Star Wars - Empire at War: Forces of corruption. This total conversion will replace every single Star Wars asset of the original game with Stargate assets. This includes units, buildings, icons, sounds, videos and so much more. Pegasus Chronicles offers 3 playable races, the Ta'uri (alliance between Earth and the Asgard), Anubis (a mighty systemlord) and the Wraith. Beside these 3 playable races, you will meet many non-playable ones like the Replicators, the Asurans, the systemlord alliance, the Aschen, the Ori and many more. Each faction will have several space and land units, well known from the series or completely new ones. Contrary to our first full version for the normal Empire at War, the next release will offer finished GC maps, in which you can play through the known Stargate storylines and experience a lot of never seen missions and adventures.

That BC304 looks a little too light and bluish. Is its texture a WIP?

It is already finished since more than a year. Don't know how often I have told you (the community) that already. We won't put any more work into it till the release, but a better model or texture is not excluded for later addons.

It also seems to be blue, because of the massive amount of yellow colour :D In german media-design we call this "Komplementärkontrast", but don´t know what it is called in english ;)

Perhaps "Komplementärkontrast" is "Complementary Contrast" in English :P

It's definitely not just my perception being altered by the bright yellow. I put the image in an image editor, used wand tool to select yellow, deleted it, and with both the white/grey default background from the program and a red background it still had a very, very bluish appearance. Maybe this is the result of the way EaW handles its shaders.

Gorgeous! i think this is brilliant! Heres a fair question. Does being that close to the suns corona affect any ship systems?

No, it's not possible to code any relation between the background and the hardpoints.

but can you make ship be effected by a map
like all ship -20% shields
(specific map)
or is that what StargateUnity was talking about

Invisible props or structure, etc will work... Invisible projectile fired by invisible structure makes damage on area and like ion reduce speed, makes energy damage... It's pssible!

Yes, but honestly, this is NOT a solution! And you know why?
For example cause you would have to set hundrets of invisible turrets to the map, so really every ship on it gets attacked by them.
Otherwise some would take damage, some not.
And this would lead to the fact, that the map would absolutely not be playable, as your ships wouldn't have a chance to fly at least over half of the map without getting destroyed.
To cut it short, that's not really a solution.

Area damage! One shot per second by ONE turret. And small damage LESSER then shield refresh. And for wraith it may be lesser than to others, because there are damage to armor modifiers, you know.

Or just speed reduce, as i sad.

Still, not really a good solution, where is the relation to the sun itself?
Honestly, when your ships get damage every second, this map would just be crap! Half of your fleet would be destroyed, before you get any contact to the enemy and if you make the damage small enough that even small ships can survive very long, it makes no sense to add it at all.

Wraith ships would dominate far too much if there was a shield penalty on the corona map

Yeah but if the corona would have made heat damage, the wraith ships organic parts would actually start to boil i guess :))

Anyway, the map is kewl. Waiting for further news!

It's possible to have these systems that will be stars to have an effect that causes shields to be lowered or to effect some of the ships systems to duplicate how the radiation and such might effect the ships. By the way, will there be white dwarfs, red giants, novae, Proto-stars, and the such? It'd be cool if you had stars other than like our sun.

Description

This is a brand new space map background.
The surface is animated so the hot plasma is really moving! Furthermore we have added several effects like eruptions to it, which will not effect the structures of ships.
