* Note that SWLU is unstable with Windows 7. It will likely freeze and crash on the loading screen. Windows 10 yields the best results.
1. Backup your X3AP saves located in documents\Egosoft. Ensure that there is no folder in there called "X3AP". If there already is, re-name it to something else because those are your old saves. SWLU will generate a new one upon first time startup.
2. Start with a base installation of Litcube's Universe 1.7.2.
- You can get LU here: Litcube.xtimelines.net
- Follow all of his install instructions carefully and launch LU to verify once you install it to X3
- You will need to install LU's core, 1.7.2 patch, soundtrack, and a GUI of your choosing
3. Locate your Litcube installation that you want to convert into SWLU and find its root folder called "x3 terran conflict".
4. Move the contents of Star Wars LU's terran conflict folder to your LU terran conflict folder and override all files when asked.
5. When you launch the game, the main menu should show a Federal Argon Shipyard and star wars ships. If it shows a Goner Temple, then you did not install correctly and are still running regular LU.
6. I highly recommend installing Joubarbe's Satellites Monitoring script, which is invaluable during the early-game and mid-game when you need to scavenge for ships.

- I also recommend looking at his "Internal Distribution Network" script if you don't like to use Saturn Complex Hubs
7. For any add-on mods such as the SWLU edition of Improved Races 2, there is a list of such mods and scripts on the SWLU Discord server with links for download. Discord.gg
- If you want to create a separate game installation outside of Steam for SWLU or any other X3AP configuration, you can get the non-steam .exe launcher from Egosoft here: Egosoft.com
------| How to Update |------
For any SWLU update, you can either install it again onto a base LU, or you can just dump it into your SWLU "x3 terran conflict" folder and override the old files. Your saves should still be compatible but I would advise making backups just in case. You can always revert to an older version if you don't like the changes. I will always upload an updated full release rather than a mod "patch", to keep things simple. Your old "X3AP" save file located in documents\Egosoft will work just fine if it is from a previous version of SWLU.

I'm not sure if I'm installing it wrong, but after the main loading screen, the game crashes. I followed the instruction manual too.
Iv tried installing this a dozen times following LU instructions and this to the letter, LU runs fine but when i add SWLU it crashes on launch.
100% fresh install comp has been reformatted from last time i played

Windows 7 has issues with SWLU. I'm sorry, I don't know why or how to fix it as of now.
can you work on a fix? All I have is a windows 7 laptop. I REALLY want to play your mod.
I followed your instructions but I am going trough steam and after I copy and pasted and replaced the files the games stills doesn't say the mod on the main menu. Help?
Which menu are you stuck on? Litcube or Albion Prelude? Does the menu have a lava planet with an advertisement sign on a station (X3AP), or does it have a bright blue-green background with a Goner Temple (Litcube)?

I must admit not heaving any clues what involve the creation of this kind of mod, BUT ...it's absolutely amazing. The details, the sound ... all!
Following instructions its easy enough to install, no problems at all.
I just have 1 big problem: the nerved battle system, where u cannot anymore dodge incoming fire, everyone is using autoaiming :(( and the ROF where ur guns shoot every 2 sec (tho never run out of energy) and the enemy is not :((

Well those combat changes are a signature feature of LU. They certainly are not for everybody, as they make fighter combat less fun. But they are what allow for the massive fleet battles to happen.
I have been playing swlu for about 21 hours. Ive followed the instructions to a T. The game had run perfectly, until i had obtained my first tie phantom. the pilot bailed during combat, and i swooped in for the claim as i hadnt fired a shot. After that, i was going to go and sell one of my 6 ships, and the game froze. I had saved just before i started to leave. So i had to force restart my laptop, load game again, and over and over it freezes. Uninstall and attempt again, same issue. Did a file check and everything checked out, fully uninstalled game, and reinstalled, everything, loaded the save and freezes again. I can't get anywhere with my only save game, and was really enjoying everything. Great mod, just wish i could play more. Windows 10 btw
Sorry to hear that! I suggest doing an import/export immediately after loading your save, before the feeeze. I have heard of these issues happening before, and the E/I fixed it for others. I don't think it is an install problem.
Thank you. I haven't tried that yet, but i started a new game and have gotten much farther without any freezing. I follow the old motto, save often lose nothing now.might have been just an odd bug, hasnt happened since a fresh start. Just glad i wasn't far along in the game
I watched the install video and i'm confused , my terran conflict folder after a fresh install doesn't have an add on folder that has prelude in it it is just the base terren conflict .exe
Sounds like you have Terran Conflict and not Albion Prelude. You need X3AP for this mod.
