Hero and Titan Changes
Heroes and Titans will now feel a little bit tougher when you use them with an increase to both their damage mitigation and armour statlines so you can get a little bit more comfort out of them sticking in the fight, of course if they are focused down they will still go down pretty fast! Keep those Heroes Safe!
No longer can you spam constellations or other healing classes to out tank your opponents phaser fire, in fact all healing has been reduced pretty much across the board by up to 70% meaning your ships will take a lot longer to recover from a fight, there is some exception to this rule though, space docks and healing stations will still heal as before unhindered meaning returning to your repair yards or setting up repair worlds is most definately worth it!
With ships being a little more fragile due to healing players will need to think carefully about engageing planetary defenses a little more theyve had a health and shield buff, but dont worry to aid you in your task each faction has a dedicated anti turret vessels similar to siege ships for starbases, the humble steamrunner is one such example and light artillery ships are perfect for attacking pesky turret defenses, whats more they have had their damage increased by 50% across the board! They've always had this role in A3 but we found people were less inclined to build them, now you have a reason again!
Sorry folks but just building small Outposts to over boost your economy in every gravity well is no longer an option, in fact your going to need to build their bigger cousins if you want the full trade package deal!
Weve adjusted the speed of out of combat ships a little more across the board and with the reduction in some gravity well sizes it wont feel like it takes an age to traverse a system! Yay for everyone...wait Borg can go faster too???
BORG CUBES ARE SCARY???
We are changing the Borg for both Players and AI, weve increased the cost of supply by 30% for all Borg Cubes including tactical cubes, they are expensive now, however theyve also got a lot scarier with a big boost in their statline - Cubes really will wreck a lot of ships, so if one turns up in your gravity well, be afraid be very afraid, and you can recreate your own Wolf 359...just like you should be doing, yes we did boost locutus too sorry!
For too long the federation has been ever powerful with its economy, with fed players funding their friends across the galaxy in proxy wars by credit boosting. So weve nerfed the fed economy, its still the best eco in the game, but you cant quite fund everyone single handedly anymore.
Dominion got Game!
The founders titan will now always call in 2 additional titans without levelling up so you can feel big and mean from the get go! Thats not taking into account the increased statline for dominion capital vessels so they can hang in the fight a lot longer, did we also mention weve insured the dominion now have the fastest speed known to all, weve tinkered with their ships to ensure the Klingons are no longer able to catch up so easily. Now go forth and lightning raid the enemy!
Some of you pesky blighters have been abusing our poor tamarian well by using the anti capture ability on multiple planets to prevent capture from the enemy, you clever bunch you, sorry but were going to have to remove that particular capture ship, dont worry though you can still see them as neutrals preventing you from capturing worlds until their death!
Experience for Destroying
Weve started the process of going through all the exp earned for destroying certain vessels, soon you will be rolling in appropriately lavished XP for your crew to get all trained up on.
Were going to throw this edition out to our supertesters to feedback on MP balance and hopefully we will get a good MP showdown going. Dont forget this is just scratching the surface of Nemesis because we have the whole nemeis encounter itself to be scared and amazed by!
