Return to the Zone in S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Wormwood, a high-difficulty survival-oriented realism modification for GSC Game World’s S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Call of Pripyat. Wormwood builds upon the core Stalker experience, enriching the latest in the cult game series with brand new survival mechanics, intense and realistic gunplay, new missions, levels, fleshed-out building interiors and much, much more.
Apologies for the lack of updates recently, real life is unfortunately taking over for a while - I have a dissertation to write, coursework to complete and exams to revise for.
Things may be pretty quiet for a few weeks during this time, I hope you understand!
As part of our A-Life overhaul for Stalkers in Wormwood, they will be able to camp out overnight at certain smart terrains if they're far from a base. This should make night-time raids more interesting as you'll come across Stalkers by the fire while out and about.
Along with this, we're in the process of creating special night-time squads that stay in-camp for the day, venturing out only at night.
That sitting dude look so desperate man :p
You could make it so that npcs prepare their gear (clean/reload/fix their weapons/suits - whatever) prior to leaving the camps for hunting - or maybe when they return to a camp. It would be nice to see the npcs interact with traders and mechanics too :)
Damn, this, it would make it feel much more A-live.
Awesome screeshot! I'm waiting to play this ;) good work!
I am really impressed in the work you have been doing, and I'm immensely looking forward to this project as we all have a strong love for the STALKER franchise. Thank you on our behalf.
Real life have to be priority.
Your mod looks great and promising, it will surely worth the wait.
I hope the best for your exams, too.
It looks beautiful and the A-life idea is great. Just a quick question though: are these "night squads" going to cause any trouble with the original quest? For ex. the squads could run into a quest squad and causing important characters dead. I played SGM and Misery, and sometimes NPCs would just start fighting with another group of people or mutants, even if you are not around that area.
Anyway real life is what you should focusing on. We stalkers are very patient and are willing to wait for probably the greatest mod in COP.
I know the wounded chimera mission in Zaton didn't play nicely with increased night-time spawns, so we'll be doing our level best to iron out any problems of the sort in testing.
Of course, in any game with an element of randomness there's always going to be a slight risk of dynamic behaviour interfering with scripted behaviour, but we'll be working to minimise it.
