The envisionment of SIN is to bring you what was promised by GSC for STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl, instead of the gutted retail release we were left with. SIN aims to cover every aspect imaginable from gameplay intended to genuinely scare the player, to graphics for the absolute best visual experience, cut mutants, absolute realism, optimisations, stability, and a complete game mechanics overhaul, all without breaking the story. The idea is to present the player with a complete retail experience for the purist that liked SoC but wished it was far more fleshed out. In no way what so ever does SIN try to be like old beta or alpha builds of SoC, SIN aims to enhance everything SoC already has and give it continuity with CS and CoP - nothing more, nothing less.

You have probably all been anxiously awaiting this, videos and links showing all the texture work that I've been doing. No doubt you'll all be asking yourselves at least a few questions so I'll answer them right now;

1. Why have you retextured the entire game?!!
A. Because I can and the devs done a crap job with their textures.

2. When will the next TK beta be ready?
A. Hopefully quite soon. Theres a few textures to be done still and a few other things to implement.

3. Its REALLY hard to save Kruglov in TK, is it even possible to save him?
A. Yes its possible. The battle to save Kruglov is not supposed to be easy. Going in you should have good armor and weapons otherwise the mercs will tear you apart. You will also need to be swift to get to Kruglov.

4. When will all these mutants etc be added like you've been talking about for ages?
A. Working on it, its on the to-do list right after I finish what I'm currently doing.

5. How system intensive is TK with all these new high quality textures?
A. Very, but not insanely so. If you have 4GB RAM or more with a heavily overclocked 1GB GTX460 or better gameplay should be quite smooth. For optimal gameplay though you will need a minimum of a GTX560 Ti 448 or a HD5850. If you intend to try and play TK with Global Illumination enabled you are going to need a GTX670 or HD7850/70 along with a highly overclocked CPU and memory. This is because X-Ray is system intensive, not just GPU intensive.

Ok, I think that answers the main questions so without further delay bought to you by the magics of the interwebz, the videos!

everything looks awesome except for the red bricks.
you definitly need to scale those red bricks up since they are way too small.

Their scaled like that because X-Ray does stupid things in places by stretching textures to some arbritary value. Having the bricks like they are is the only way to work around it. The textures will be stretched in places still, but not to the point it looks like the game time warped back to 1994.

why not just creating new ones over the orginals?
btw i'm talking about kordon.
the redbrick tiles show tiny bricks instead of the original brick size.
this looks strange... especially on places where the model shows real bricks.

I think I saw what you mean, a minor detail which even I'm not bothered about as the textures are leauges ahead of the vanilla textures.

Thats a problem with the mesh I believe, GSC messed up the mirroring of the texture. Experienced modellers should be able to fix it.
