Chernobyl, 2017. Two unknown forces clash in the vacated ruins towards the western reaches of the Zone, simultaneously trading gunfire and braving the harsh winter temperatures. S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Eisenkrieg throws the player right into the heat of battle, with up to four classes from each side to choose from. Take on your enemies and fuel the fires of war, or strike out alone and fend for yourself. As part of an evolving story, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Eisenkrieg makes use of light plot elements and is heavily based on S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Chernobyl, the award-winning modification made by the talented minds of TeamEPIC. The demo release was made available on the 20/06/2023, followed by the full release on the 20/07/2023 and the "Battle of Yanov" expansion on the 30/04/2024.

The following is what was recovered from a few scribbled pieces of paper, along with some worn ammunition, all of which was found on the body of a dead male, presumably in his late twenties. Found by [REDACTED], reporting to the Agroprom Research Institute under the command of [REDACTED]. Reviewed by [REDACTED], a trained linguist.

Extracts found by military patrols, translated by one of the few linguists from Russian to English back at one of the military field camps. Reconstructive drawings have been included by analysts to depict the setting and events in the presented accounts.

"Vovan saw a campfire in the distance. I didn't believe him at first, but I felt uneasy after finding out the truth. I was certain that we were being followed.

We were only two of the ones who were responsible for getting the people together and drive out those who were invading our home. I'd rather die than let them dictate how we live, but we must act cautiously for now. We moved our belongings to a different spot to avoid being noticed. We'll move out in the morning.

Vovan woke me up as he says he heard some howling. Tired, I still get up and we grab our guns. It was only us, just me and Vovan. We couldn't take any chances. We opened fire into the brush, and the howling stopped. It was already in the early hours of the morning. We were still wondering what that strange fire in the distance was. A forest fire? No. Another camp, possibly? Maybe, but we can't risk it. I convinced Vovan that we shouldn't seek it out. The enemy could be there, trying to lure us into a trap.

Late entry. We came to a road, the wall of a forest was behind a clearing. We didn't recognise this area too well, but we trudged on. Another man in a strange suit was on the other side of a ravine, separated by a broken bridge and a small river. He was swearing at us, swearing at us in Russian, and pointed his weapon in our direction. We shot him down without a second thought. He was carrying something large, probably something that the Germans used. He could've killed us, but we live for now.

We proceeded a bit further to a tunnel, no way through, but went through the forest instead. We walked for hours. More time had passed until we were sure we were missing something. I was anxious, but Vovan always said "Anton, you need to keep your eyes forward and your finger on the trigger". I suppose he's right.

More news here. We had somehow ended up back where we started. Have we gone in a full circle? Who knows? I don't know how, but we came back to where the strange man was holding a large weapon. His body was still there, cold and lifeless. Either he was definitely dead or he must've been the best silent actor since Karalli. If only we could find a way over the ravine since the bridge clearly was not stable, we could see what he had on his person.

Good news for a change. We can see a small village on the horizon. We were urged by even more gunfire, but we still moved with haste. Forget the stranger and the ravine. The small village would be a perfect hiding spot. Allies may be nearby, but we did lose comms a while ago. Endless trudging through the thick forest. Decided to write in this journal to pass the time."

Various pages are either horribly smudged or ripped out of the worn, tattered makeshift "book" of assorted pieces of paper. Upon further examination, a separate piece of paper was found in the pile that continues from the previous entries.

"Navigating the fog, we found our way through. Vovan took a nasty fall. Took maybe ten minutes or more to get him up. Helped him up after a while. We got closer to the village. No one around. Vovan offered to give me a boost up onto the fence. My jacket just about shielded me from the barbed wire, but only if I pressed upon the wire gently, using one of the supporting posts to distribute my weight across. I got over the fence. Vovan didn't. Vovan couldn't get over the fence, his wounds were too much for him, I grazed myself up while getting over the barbed wire fence while he fell back over to the side that we arrived from. He fell silent as if he died on impact. I can't take any more chances. Had to leave him behind.

Found a couple of choice weapons. Going to try my luck in this small town until help arrives. Perched in the wrecked building, next to the square with the statue in the middle. I hope I live to see the end of all this."

Analysts are still looking to work out how the accounts in the journal were produced and are in the process of testing the legitimacy of the claims made within the accounts above. Further updates following these accounts are due to be released soon.
