Chernobyl, 2017. Two unknown forces clash in the vacated ruins towards the western reaches of the Zone, simultaneously trading gunfire and braving the harsh winter temperatures. S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Eisenkrieg throws the player right into the heat of battle, with up to four classes from each side to choose from. Take on your enemies and fuel the fires of war, or strike out alone and fend for yourself. As part of an evolving story, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Eisenkrieg makes use of light plot elements and is heavily based on S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Chernobyl, the award-winning modification made by the talented minds of TeamEPIC. The demo release was made available on the 20/06/2023, followed by the full release on the 20/07/2023 and the "Battle of Yanov" expansion on the 30/04/2024.

Initial announcement of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Eisenkrieg with a few extra mod details.

Posted by on

Hello, stalkers.

The time has come. Today is a very special day. On this day in history, we had a chance to reflect upon our own actions, to fulfil the promise that history will not repeat itself.

Even now, humanity appears to have not delivered on this very promise.

Introducing S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Eisenkrieg, the revolutionary step forward that brings elements of the World War II shooter into the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. universe. Equipped with nothing but their rifles and the clothes on their backs, soldiers from two sides are destined to fight to the death over unfamiliar territory.

Live life on the edge in Hardcore Mode or shoot your way out at your own pace in Casual Mode; no matter what you're feeling, there's bound to be a style of play that you'll enjoy.

Based on the award-winning S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Chernobyl mod made by the talented modders of TeamEPIC, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Eisenkrieg features a dynamic class system, a harsh climate and various other tidbits to keep players on their toes in their devastating fight for survival. Be sure to stand to attention as I go in-depth on what's due to come for all of you new recruits and hardened veterans.

A DYNAMIC CLASS SYSTEM:

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Eisenkrieg grants the player access to four different classes for each of the two primary faction choices, each coming with their own advantages and disadvantages. These weapon classes are also reflected through the presence of your allies as well as your sworn enemies.

ASSAULTER: Suitable for medium and long range combat encounters. These common grunts are often those who are dropped right into the heat of the battle, but that doesn't come without at least some benefits. Many assault rifles are versatile enough to be used under most combat scenarios.

- Advantages: Versatile weaponry. Reasonable mobility.

- Disadvantages: Repair equipment not accessible by default.

SPECIALIST: Suitable for close range combat encounters. Lightweight, cunning and able to swiftly dish out more lead than most. These guys thrive in getting up close and personal with the enemy. Submachine guns are their bread and butter, and their fire rate will ensure that they'll be home for dessert.

- Advantages: Excels in close range combat. Higher fire rate of weapons used. Excellent mobility. Repair equipment accessible by default.

- Disadvantages: Long range combat encounters are extremely risky. A frequently close proximity to enemies can be a danger to players.

HEAVY: Suitable for medium range combat encounters. Big, brutal and straightforward. Kills the enemy, and kills them now. Heavy units do not mess around. Sometimes, one has to take an overkill approach to getting the job done. Light machine guns, amongst others, are their specialty. They'll often accompany their weapon of choice with something extra, too.

- Advantages: Powerful weaponry. Spawns with an additional assault weapon by default. Repair equipment accessible by default.

- Disadvantages: Reduced mobility. Additional responsibility of maintaining multiple weapons on the battlefield.

SNIPER: Suitable for long range combat encounters. Silent and deadly, with a keen eye for detail, sniper units are able to use the element of surprise to their advantage. Once they have the enemy in their sights, a striking thunder will sweep across the land to signal another kill being added to their name.

- Advantages: Excels in long range combat. Excellent potential to kill with each shot fired. Able to ration ammo effectively due to the nature of issued weaponry.

- Disadvantages: Limited potential for close range combat encounters. Limited ammo capacity and rate of fire. Repair equipment not accessible by default.

Each of the four classes above are also accompanied by an additional option to explore the plot of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Eisenkrieg in a "show, don't tell" fashion through the eyes of an experienced soldier. The battle will be rough, and the road ahead may be long and unforgiving, but it doesn't always pay to stand your ground and fight to the death.

AN AUTHENTIC ARSENAL:

After many months of research, the World War II Weapons Pack for S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Chernobyl was released on the 31/03/2023. This groundbreaking weapon mod (available here for those who want to take a look) will serve as a strong foundation for S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Eisenkrieg and its upcoming future developments.

Everything from ammunition types, weapon weights, muzzle velocity and other historical and technical details have been carefully translated into the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. world that we know and love. From the famous Grease Gun to the infamous nature of the StG 44, each and every weapon has been finely tuned to reflect their own real-life characteristics both within the World War II Weapons Pack and the upcoming S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Eisenkrieg modification.

AN EVOLVING STORY:

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Eisenkrieg will be introduced as part of an evolving story, a story that will be made clearer over time. After digging out the finer details, one may gain a clearer perspective on the events that are about to unfold.

Some strange sightings have been reported by stalkers and military operatives towards the western reaches of the Zone. Despite the numerous disappearances in and around the Red Forest in recent months, some stalkers were daring enough to seek out the cause of these strange sightings, only to be hindered by the harsh weather that has swept through the Chernobyl area in a matter of days.

Months prior, a cache of weapons was discovered deep in the Zone. While it is currently unclear as to where it is or why it exists, many stalkers were quick to arm themselves with their findings. Eventually, the Military have been able to catch onto this and have taken preventative measures to reduce (or, at best, eliminate) any potential for a full-blown faction war.

Sensing their vulnerability to the harsh winter temperatures, the Mercenaries were quick to migrate from the Dead City and spread their forces out across various camps that are dotted around the western borders of the Zone. Only a known few were unfortunate enough to lose their lives following this change in circumstances. Even so, some of the deceased still remain with some choice gear that is still ripe for the taking, should any stalkers be motivated to dig deeper for the spoils of the dead.

Escaping the bloodshed in and around the Dead City area was out of the question for some time. Many lives are set to be lost. There is no other way around this. After braving the cold, you infer that something must be done. This is where you come in.

A BRIGHTER FUTURE:

Future developments for S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Eisenkrieg are yet to come, but plans for these are certainly in the works.

For myself and other modders (as well as those loyal S.T.A.L.K.E.R. fans that are keeping our games and community alive), it would be ideal for the release of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Eisenkrieg to be as accommodating as possible for all. Knowing this, I'd be pleased to allow other creators and fans to contribute towards submitting their own addons upon the release of this mod. This way, many fun and creative takes can be brought to the table. S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Eisenkrieg can also serve as a basis for others to build their mods on as well as its own product of both labour and love.

To finish off, I'd like to thank you so much for giving this a read, even if you do wish to have a quick scan for the best bits. In my next update, I hope to bring you all news of other thrilling aspects of this mod. Until then, be sure to stay tuned!
