What's the difference between this "Reconstructed - Unofficial Patch" & and the Unofficial Patch 3.1 (english) one Moddb.com

This is an unofficial patch specifically for "STALKER CoP RECONSTRUCTED Revision2.0 Ver. 1.5.5 -NEW-" link in the full description above.

The other is an adaptation of Jurok's unofficial patch for Vanilla CoP. (read its Description in full)

The 2 are definitely not compatible.

The base game mod runs well on steam. After I install this unnofficial patch, STALKER-COP crash in the load screen, trying to start a new fresh game. Tried altering graphic and sound setup, with no success. Last lines in the log are these:

gamedata\sounds\none.ogg is a sound file added by STALKER CoP RECONSTRUCTED Revision2.0 Ver. 1.5.5, so I assume you may have installed the wrong version of stalker CoP Reconstructed, or just installed only this patch over a vanilla game.

I tried to reproduce on steam, but it did not crash.

if you read the description of this patch, there is install info and a link to the version of STALKER CoP RECONSTRUCTED this patch was made for.

I have some bad news pyp. It turns out that the file none.ogg is ONLY generated if you choose to install the full package (the one that has openscopes, HUD Rework, etc.) or the "adds masks" etc... option. If neither of those are selected, then the mod WILL NOT generate the file none.ogg or, more importantly, any of the OTHER files needed for the HudRework mod. I have a sneaking suspicion that if you added the file none.ogg into the correct location then the crash would just cascade into the next missing file.

One of the things I found out the annoying way is that if you install one set of options and then deselect it, the installer will not delete the files. If you just re-ran the installer to make the non-mask patch then it would not remove scripts added by the HudRework mod. In other words, even if you deselect HudRework through the installer and run it again, it will not actually uninstall HudRework. You have to specifically uninstall the mod through the uninstaller it generates if you want to edit any settings.

I think the reason so few people have reported this, is because most people just install the complete package for the most immersive experience. I personally find the breathing and mask effects to be more irritating than immersive, so I just ran without it, and I found myself dealing with the same issues detroit_77 encountered the first time I tried to install your patch.

I only recently started running this mod, hence the way late response to this, but I thought it might be worth knowing.

As for those of you who read this far, if you want the patch but don't want the irritation of a permanent breathing sound or mask overlay, if you go into the folder for this patch, edit actor_effects_data.script and delete everything between the brackets of "outfits = {" and "helmets = {", the game will think you are not wearing an outfit that requires a mask, and will therefore not load the relevant sounds and textures. Note, however, that you will still need to install HUDRework in order to not crash.

That makes sense, those 2 options that install hud reworked should be the only ones to install that none.ogg file as Hud Reworked is the only one that needs it.

Thank you for posting about this, it prompted me to look into the crash a bit further.

After some testing, I found the root of the problem was indeed my fault. While I was editing actor.ltx to update the new arm meshes, I used the version of actor.ltx that installed with Hud Reworked.

Since there is already an included patch for the anabiotic issue if the hud reworked option was installed, I just added the correct edited actor.ltx there, and also an updated one in the main patch.

Now there should be no CTD if you don't tick one of those 2 options that installs Hud Reworked.

As far as the installer stuff goes, I would definitely suggest to anyone installing the mod, that if after installing the mod you decide you don't like the hud reworked or other changes, just delete your gamedata folder completely and reinstall with your preferred options. This will help to avoid issues.

Not gonna lie, it took me slightly longer than one might consider rational to realise that the mod did not generate none.ogg if you didn't pick those options. There may have been some swearing before I posted that. Hence the annoying way.

It's good to know you updated the mod, usually mods of mods this old tend to be forgotten entirely, so everyone has to do the fix manually if they want the fix at all.

Incidentally, I was going to try and see if I could get the Full Upgrades for Weapons and Armors Mod 1.0 working on this mod, because whilst more dakka is fun, all the dakka is much more fun.

As it turns out, you can just install the mod and it'll work. It looks like any mod that does not generate a weapons/upgrades or misc/outfit_upgrades folder should be compatible with that full upgrade tree mod.

I don't know if that mod inadvertently fixes the SVD issue or not, I usually pony up for the Lynx if I want that kind of precision firepower during a playthrough.

I can see how it would have been frustrating, all good man.
I had to at least try to replicate the crash and figure out what was the main issue. Thanks man

Hi! The mod runs great and smooth (as smooth as the engine is able to). But I got a problem specifically with my all-time favourite sniper rifle, the SVD. When I get to upgrade it with all first and second enhancements tier, after equipping it everything seems to run OK, until I save the game and load it later (or die then I load a saved game). XRengine crash at the point of not loading my saved game with said sniper rifle enhanced inside. The only way I can use it, is not upgrading it at all, or instead trying the SVD_Nimble version, the Lynx, which I like it, but not so much as the elegant, badass and slavic classic SVD.

This was what xrengine logged after crash with First and Second tier Upgrades (be it Nitro from Yanov or Cardan from Skadovsk)

Aside that, this mod is a must play for everyone! I'm having a ton of fun

This mod is filled with weapons and Absolute Nature 4, but being a 32 bit engine it sill has tendency to throw out of memory crashes.
You can either lower your settings, or use -noprefetch.
you can even try to use Open X-Ray x64 if you know what you are doing.

Thank you so much PYP for your hard work, you absolutely had no requirement to do this and yet you have. For this the patch is for all purposes an official patch from now on for those that haven't read the comments on the main page I have moved on from CoP and onto Stalker: Anomaly, with the intention to make a mod-pack similar to this one. Minor gameplay tweaks, decent graphic overhauls but not so much bloat as to cause major frame issues or to confuse the player with a billion non vanilla features. This time however I'll put much more attention to full testing the pack to release a more finished version and may also make a discord server dedicated to the pack cause Moddb sends me notifications whenever it randomly wants it seems.

Unfortunately, on version 1.6.2, I don't play this fashion and it's a pity
