It would make sense if you made the HMMWV and other large transport vehicles bullet proof or at least bullet resistant. I've become good with editing the materials in bf2 so I can do it easily.

They are bulletproof in vanilla, both APCs and Humvees
APCs yes, but not the Humvees. Even shotguns and pistols damage the Humvee.
