With cries of "Sic Semper Tyrannis", nearly a quarter of the United Empire's worlds have seceded to form their own nation. They call themselves the "Pilgrims". The Empire's legislature interpreted this secession as treason, and the overwhelming might of the loyalist fleet has fallen on the Pilgrims. Although the situation is militarily hopeless, your family and friends have all joined the resistance - and so you shall.
Sonata is a total conversion mod for FTL based on the storyline of Endless Space by Amplitude Studios, with modifications. It aims to create a gritty, realishtic*, and morally ambiguous story on the FTL engine where politics, motivations, and the nature of humanity itself affect your journey.

Note: Since a few people have had difficulties installing Sonata due to the way it was uploaded, I'm trying a different scheme. The download will contain Sonata7a.ftl and the readme; just drag the .ftl file into your mod directory and start GMM!

Is there anyway to restore ftl to 1.0..1? Or, if not, when will a compatible version be uploaded
I'll take a look at it within the coming month.
Im having the same problem as crossdressinate the game starts up but when i press start after selecting my ship it crashes. I have used both the steam and nonsteam version so I dont think thats the problem. Also i have tried using versions 7 and 7a and they both have the same problem.
Found the problem, its incompatible with the latest version of FTL it works on 1.03.1 but not 1.03.3. Im guessing we'll have to just wait for another update.
I'll do my best to post one in the next month (now that my laptop's fixed)
Just installed this mod with the mod manager, it's the only mod installed and I keep getting CTD's whenever I hit start after I choose my ship loadout in the hangar. I'm using the Steam version of FTL.
Endless space meets Faster than light? Yes please.
Are the ship graphics going to be redone in the FTL pixel style or will they remain as-is?
We'll see. I've recently brought on another artist and his work is far closer to vanilla FTL style (I'm more of a dev than an artist).
New content in the next release will be a bit more "FTL"-y, although the ships that are in right now won't be updated for a while. I'm not concerned with matching vanilla as much as I am with changing everything and stretching the bounds of what is possible.
Ah. fair enough, Though I did try to remake the existing frigate sprite in the FTL style, just to see if I could. Dunno if you'll want it or not.

I should probably do osme more shading around the front of the ship though...
That looks absolutely outstanding! I'd love to use it, but the rest of the Sonata ships would need to be remade to match (or at least the Long Island)
Actually, I'm having trouble finding out which ship the long island is based off, as it doesn't seem to be any of the UE ships in endless space, any help?
Why don't you email me directly - matthew.j.alioto@gmail.com.
Oh neat! I'd love to redo the rest of the ships, and maybe the crewman sprites too.
The Long Island's gonna be a challenge... oh ho ho...
