"As a note, join the Steam Public group SMOD Redux fans, or something like that.Note that I give all credits to the respectful owners of the original SMOD, I won't stole what they've been working at, I only thought this would be a very good idea, since nobody tried to do this, a brand new SMOD, with a new concept, such a ,,mega-improvement,, to say so.I won't blame this, but the Internet does not have anymore HL2BETA packs, so this would be one of the last mods based on this content, to say so.I'm intending to release more games/mods based on beta-stages content.Behind the scenes this is the original SMOD Redux V8, but with my ,,help,, and/or ,,improvement,, it currently doesn't have bugs, so, so I won't release yet a FIX Patch, but if you find some bugs, tell me, and I'll try to fix the problem, maybe after a while I will release some ,,expansion packs,, which maybe will contain missions/chapters/mods based on the original HL2BETA, BUT, ONLY if the mod will be popular enough .Try, rate, comment about it, this is my first ever mod release, hope you appreciate it, you might say that I only thrown a pack inside it.WRONG! This really took be awhile to FIX some potential issue, some errors would show up, others won't, others were in ,,secret areas,, to say so, also the client of the mod needed to be re-worked because some textures got messed up by it, and also the graphic engine got a bit fixed, because of --)(a month more exactly it took me to fix it), reffering to the fact that it originally had some bad reflections (pink and black textures in the darkness, other in the light), or some map props when broken up, they become pink'n black, and other props, like supplies, won't show up, objects had some missing textures and bad load issues, which made most of models screwed up, so it necessitated some deep working in the models, and in the client files, to work correctly.This really took a while, this May (month)I've almost every day spent 9/10 hours only on fixing, not adding content.
The requirements are up, also I really suggest this MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS:
CPU:Intel Pentium 4, 3.20GHz, or AMD Athlon with more than 1 core, @2.20Ghz, Intel Core i5, @2.10GHz, Intel Core i7, @1.90GHz, and with Hyper-Threating, which is needed for most of games, including this.
Motherboard:ANY, just to support performant ,,things,,(I lack of ,,inspiration,,)
RAM:3GB DDR2, 2GB DDR3, 2GB DDR4/5
Video Card:NVIDiA Geforce 7000GT or higher, with at least 512VRAM memmory(recommend DDR3)
(same with the ATi Cards), and Pixel Shader Version 4.0, DirectX Support: 10.0
WARNING! THE GRAPHIC CARD MUST HAVE AN UPDATED DRIVER, OR SOME TEXTURES WILL BE BROKEN, I THINK THIS BECAUSE OF MY NEW GRAPHIC FIX, TO FIT WITH THE TEXTURES.
HDD:At least 4GB for game(@ 15GB, if you own the games mentioned up), NTFS formatted, defragmented, and scanned for errors, for the best performances.

Audio Card:Like the Video Card, must be DirectX 10.0 compatible, and updated.
Note:I strongly recommend to use PowerSuite to update and fix your computer, have an original windows, and use Microsoft Security Essentials, I personally thing it's far the best antivirus program, and remove all viruses and error from your computer.

2. The difficulties hard mode, very hard, and nightmare had something called smod_player_locationdamage set to "1". Basically it lets the player get headshot by Combine. Unfortunately sometimes it would glitch and body shots would not count as damage to the player at all. In fact bullets would pass right through the player. I tested this in the last few days just to be sure, and it's still there. Therefore, I have set smod_player_locationdamage to "0" no matter what difficulty you choose. Believe me when I say if you select nightmare, it'll be just as hellish just because you can't be headshot.
3. Included in all versions of SMOD is a script named npc_weapon_randomize. By default this is set to 0, and usually SMOD authors don't mess with it in lieu of the override_class script. I found this to be unsatisfying, and tricked out the weapon_randomize script so that all Combine variants now have a chance to spawn with any weapon they're capable of wielding (i.e. combine_s will not spawn with a deagle since they cannot fire it without glitching out). Again, this is disabled by default, so if it doesn't sound appetizing don't worry about it.
